Hi, can someone compare this with Ford Fiesta Sedan?
would like to choose among these cars...
thanks
*
if u ever seen a ford fiests sedan dirivng in real life, especially the view from behind, its very out of proportion.

but, nvm, you're sitting inside, not outside anyway.

now sedan with 6/7 airbags.

try the seat, i found its too tight for me. but my body not small i must say.

and the interior space quite small. cruze/forte bigger. cruze biggest among all.

Car of the future, revealed today smile.gif

It's quite a sad fiasco that HSD and Hyundai Korea have gotten themselves into. By the time buyers get their cars, many new propositions already start to surface, and I dare say, most of them won't come with a 6-10 months waiting period.
*
at least its better than lamborghini aventador. because the waiting list is 18months. u pay 2 million and wait 18mths biggrin.gif

if want resale value, just go for Toyota and Honda. Not all japanese car has good resale value, and depend on the model too. Somemore, if rare model, than resale value also drop.

i had been waiting for the Honda Civic 2012 for almost a year because of the same reason - resale value. After done months of research in comparison, i found i'll be paying extra just for the brand (resale value) instead of practicality which eventually is not worth value for money.

For RM100k+ spent, i expect the car should provide worthy features. i would list out several things that eventually made me opt for elantra.

1. cabin & trunk space (i have family, space is important for me, civic too small)
2. fuel economy (better than civic)
3. less maintenance (6-speed gearbox is maintenance free, no need to change oil & filter)
4. safety
5. luxury feel (interior inside feel like luxury car compare to civic, your passenger will feel comfortable)
6. fun to drive (keyless entry, push button start, rear view camera, shiftronic, navi option)
7. reliability assured (5years warranty+10years gearbox warranty)
8. ride & handling (not as good as civic but still good & comfortable.)
9. good horsepower for 1.8 engine, same as my current perdana v6 (elantra 148hp, civic 140hp)
10. lower price but better features!

i have also been in my friends current gen Honda Civic just want to have the feel, and i was so depressed its so dry.

These are the reasons why people go for other brands like Peugeot, Volkswagen, Mazda, Ford despite knowing the resale value will be bad. Besides, after 7 years resale value wont bother anymore because market price will stabilize and you have already breakeven.
*
OH, you have seen and test drive the car already?

11. fluidic and amazing design (forgot to put this one, this is the prime reason).

my statement of 1.8 civic and 1.8 elantra is directly respond to the statement above.

how the hell do you judge a car from reviews? lol.

so you wanna buy an elantra at RM120,000?

you sure is smarter than you look. lol.

ok, jokes aside, by no means i'm here to belittle any one. but i'm just saying, the main USP of this car starts with price, then design. By no means its here to challenge T/H.

Sorry, but since when Elantra pricing has been confirmed to be RM120,000?

I think when you mention car price, you actually means resales value, because I have 99.99% doubt that Sime Darby will  commit suicide by pricing the Elantra above the Civic, but even when I said that the pre-owned sales in SD for 2010 Sonata YF 2.0 High Spec fetched RM124k as a fact people still remains in denial.

Instead of having us convince your impenetrable doubt in futility, why not call up Sime Darby and verify that yourself?

Used car price is driven by demands, not brand. When the used car market is spoiled with choices, do you think your Honda and Toyota will retain in value? And finally, 2011's Hyundai is not 2006's Hyundai, how much Hyundai changed globally since 2006? Seems like only in Malaysia the mentality is still stuck at 2006 mindset. In Malaysia alone Hyundai has took great leaps in improving themselves ever since Sime Darby took over, improvement at things many are already so used to if they're driving a T&H they hardly notice it.

Not everyone make their decision based on price. If you worry so much about car prices/resales value, I will repeat another forumer's word, you're not ready to afford cars in that budget range.

I'll still eat my shoe if I ever own a Civic before an Elantra, regardless of price. wink.gif
*
nobody mentioned 1.8 elantra is 120000, but i was saying, IF 1.8 elantra is same price as 1.8 civic, nobody will buy elantra. ( this implies, elantra is not same par with civic, if it needs to win, it needs to price lower.)

i have nothing against you, and hyundai or even korean car, worry not.

but let me tell you one thing, even your hyundai SD malaysia understand their strategy very well.

lower price + higher spec = korean car strategy.

i dont care about what car you drive whatever, mostly car salesman driving wira only ( because they have nothing to show off, unlike young fresh graduates. )

if you think ppl dont care about resale value, let me tell you one thing, hyundai is not the brand (yet) for ppl to sacrifice resale value. Peugeot, yes, bmw, yes, MB, yes, alfa romeo, yes.

you're a car salesman that is more active in forum, i guess there's no honda/toyota salesman here, i wonder why.

If you worry so much about car prices/resales value, I will repeat another forumer's word, you're not ready to afford cars in that budget range.

lol rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

your word really gets on my nerve.

lol. you buy car without looking at the price? you sick? or are you the kind of guy saying " my imaginary girlfren is hotter than megan fox?" you buy a car without looking at price? so you choose a hyundai ( in this case, elantra?) lol. not a better car? hey, i'm rich, i dont care about price/resale value, yea, so i got myself a hyundai elantra. huh?

again, if your elantra is selling at rm120,000(which is same price as 1.8civic) . good luck to your sales.

if your elantra is selling at <rm 100,000, its shows your higher management is smarter than you, thus they are higher management, so, worry not, the car can sell.

no offense, but you should see how xxx.tan in forum. he probably make more sales using that way.

last post in this thread. no more.

1. elantra in malaysia will always price lower than any japan competitor such as civic/altis, just like kia forte.

2. elantra is not even launched, and its already better than civic? (fanboism?)

3. Price is always number one in car buying. if you dont think so, you should get a bmw, thats a car. blow water is always easier, my dddd is longer than your dddd kind of talk is childish.

no hard feelings, enjoy your weekend.

Wandering to the left is a very common issue found in continental cars.

its not an issue at all. ask any bmw or merc or peugeot owner.

a quick look at motortrader..i found this model is up for sale

http://www.motortrader.com.my/Cars/Buying/...40a669ca7&css=y

for RM69,500

then i look for new price which is http://www.motortrader.com.my/cars/new/naza/forte.aspx
new price is RM85,800.

over one year only, a reduction of almost rm16k...this is almost 20% from the original price in just 1 year..

now somebody tell me is this a good resale value?
*
first year of cos will fetch lower value. and thats the price if you sell to 2nd car dealer.

second hand car interest rate higher, need to factor in also. otherwise, ppl might as well go buy New car with lower interest rate.

you try to call , and pretend u wanna sell 1 year old civic (new @ rm130k) and see how much they take.
