use a knife. or razor.less painful.

kidding broooo, what's your height! i am assuming you've put on a bit of a 'visible layer of fat'.. u can start by counting what's your daily caloric intake you require, google that. eat abit less than that and you'll be losing weight. be sure to maintain the same amount of protein you're taking (1.5g of protein per pound of your bodyweight), and only take carbs post workout. slowly achieve that, start reducing carbs by 50% every meal.. then another 50%... you'll get there eventually!

i dont have any cutting tips cuz ive not gained enough to cut yet.. but ALL THE BEST!

genuinehuman is right.. even if you want muscles of certain specific parts of your body to be slightly bigger u need to do more overall workout like pull up, push up, squats.. and its not that easy to build those huge muscle.. u need to be consistent and workout for at least a year or so.. unless u have really good genes. so dont worry about getting too big.. getting big doesnt happen over night.. it happens over a rather lengthy period of time.

all the best

guys im starting my fitness training just a week ago. 1 day abs training, then pain the next day for 4 days == yesterday ok liao i do again the abs exercise and again this morning pains. what supplement should i get?

a) i heard about the fish oil, i'm planning to buy it, what kind / mg should i get or the combination of evening primrose + fish oil?

b) should i take high dosage of vit C, as it can heal muscle pain faster?
*
whats ur workout routine like. and what is ur goal for doing your ab exercise? you want to lose fat and look fit? or u wana gain abit muscle to look fit? basically im sure u wanna look fit right. your ab exercise isnt going to make your 6 packs burst out just for your info. everyone has a bit of ab muscles, those who do ab exercise lagi sure have, its just the layer of bodyfat on top of it shrouding it. so the key is to get rid of fat, not to spam your ab exercises.

any supplement u take wont take away your pain in recovery immediately. just eat enough protein and get enough rest, if that doesnt help then look for supps.

ahh.. yeah i would like to focus on my abs first, but also included hand and leg exercise that provided by my gym.
also is it normal to pain for 4-5 days? i'm currently drinking the GNC Weight Gain 2000. sometimes it makes me skip my lunch because it gives me a full feeling (don't feel like eating or puke lol) after drinking it in the morning. ops forgot to add i'm 168cm 50kg.

routine is like 15 mins treadmill, 45 times sit up, then slacking on some other machines that work on my hand and leg. then 15 mins sauna. that's all.
*
what is ur goal. like clear goal, u want to gain weight? how much weight? u want to look fit? how many % body fat? if u want ur abs to b visible u cant 'focus on your abs'. u dont choose where you want to remove the fat from your body, the body removes it, you on the other hand need to lift heavy weights that hit more muscles all over your body at 1 time instead of focusing on 1 muscle. because muscle burns 80%++ of your fat, even when you are sleeping, which obv beats cardio unless u cardio to work, to get home, in the toilet.. so building more muscle overall helps to burn fat faster than doing isolation exercises that hit only 1 muscle group, ie abs.

yes muscle pain for 4-5 days is natural if u havent worked that muscle in awhile and u do lots of reps. your 45 situps wont make your abs muscle any more visible, u need to squat and bench and do more other compound exercises like pull ups as well.

take your weight gainer right after a workout or right after u get out of bed, best absorption.

thanks for tips. it's like this, the GNC salesperson ask me to fill 1/2 of my shaker with that GNC powder and add water and shake. so if i go like this, fill just 1/4 and drink it 2 times a day after meal?
*
yeah split your portions. take 1/4 + water and thats 1 shake for morning, then repeat after workout. on days without workout u can take 1/2 instead of 1/4 cuz not working out ma.

absorption is technically better if u split it up n give ur body digestion time instead of gorging 1 huge meal down.

about the bulging muscle thing, its not easy to achieve that so u dont think that u lift abit then will become like that. those ppl are doing 100% discpline, u want to get to your 'fit' look, u just need to do maybe 20-30% discpline of what they do.. sounds easy? not exactly. u need to eat at least 1g of protein per pound of ur current weight n noe wats ur required calorie intake and eat more than the required, then u will gain weight n muscle. also, u need to lift weights. a lot of the abangs here have been doing that, but only a few are as u described. why? cuz they are really disciplined to the core. doesnt mean u wanna get fit u donit discpline or less discipline.

u wanna look fit, go lift weights, do more compound exercises and eat right. then when ur muscles are more visible, then u can consider cutting (losing fat), then add more cardio to your workout and try the keto diet. getting fit isnt a one time thing like oh ill do this for these 6 mths and get fit for the rest of my life, no way. its a change of a lifestyle, u need to change your eating plan as well. then maybe u can see some improvement biggrin.gif all the best. for the stuff that u dont understand, google it, we can help u but dont expect us to answer everything, cuz that way u dont learn as much as u do when u go and search it up yourself, much like how most of the abangs here started off too.

im just trying to get my overall body fat percentage lower  to get better definition..
*
question is.. what is there for you to define, beneath the body fat? Don't take it personal but I'm skinny too. And I'm bulking as well, now developed quite a tummy, but I'd rather bulk first, get that muscle mass you need. More muscle on you will help you burn fat at a higher rate, more consistently, than you cardioing everyday.. muscle helps to burn more than 80% of fat, even when u are asleep man. Bulk up first! biggrin.gif

Halo i need some advise....  My predicament is I can't decide which route to follow first: Fat loss need or muscle growth. I'm 58kg and fairly lean. I want the six pack abs but I don't want to lose muscle. I also want to gain muscle, but I definitely need to lose the flab around my waist or my abs won't show. Should I try to lose the fat first or just go straight to the muscle gain? I've been trying to follow your recommendations, but when I reduce my calories (still eating 6 meals a day) I seem to end up lowering my metabolism and losing muscle but the fat is still there around my waist. This is really frustrating so I end up going back to increasing my calories for weight gain. I'm confused and would like your advice about what is the correct approach to take. I am also a marathon runner also.. my routine

Monday: workout
Tuesday: running
Wednesday: Workout
Thursday: running
Friday: Workout
Saturday:rest
sunday: LSD run / interval training

hmmm. what's your bf% and lean muscle mass? do you squat, bench, or do compound lifts? I would suggest working on bulking first, cuz muscle burns fat even when ur sleeping and is responsible for more than 80% of your fat burnt.. best of all, it burns more consistently than cardio.. unless you tell me you run everywhere you go.. thus more muscle = more fat burnt. reducing calories and gaining muscle at the same time is almost impossible.. might as well do one at a time..

Also what body type are you? ecto, endo or meso? diff bodies require diff amount of calories to maintain their weight.. or lose fat.. I gained some fat too in my process of bulking but later on can cut 1 la.. in fact later on will be easier..

a controversial topic found in HnF..

http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art...ticlekey=118892

however I personally think that muscle mass they r referring to is not rly much.. are there actually any bodybuilders out there who do solely light weight-high rep training paired wit med weight-high rep? ><

Ya right. Then waiters must have the biggest biceps in the world.

Though, the article was talking about "people with compromised skeletal muscle mass".
