If u just want to drill small holes, wood & cement wall alike, domestic use, a sub RM200 model from Bosch or Black & Decker is enough.

Take note that, to drill wood & cement wall require different drill bit. Wood usually is black color while cement is chrome color.

Not too familiar with the Bosch's range & its price tag.

But I'm using a Black & Decker corded drill at home & sometimes for work.
Selling for I think RM189 at Jusco/Tesco etc. If got offer, can get at about RM159 or something.
The supplied drill bit is insufficient, so i bought an additional drill bit combo for RM30+.

Can drill cement wall, wood, door frame with ease.

BUT if u want to drill thru tiles, slot in wall clip & mount toilet accessories. That requires some skill & experience loh.

if u die die also want to get a bosch drill can try this model, GBH 2-18 RE
Cost around RM380 ++ ( if not mistaken ). This one is good enough to complete ur work. Other china made drill only around 140++. If it's not heavy duty, can try china brand. biggrin.gif

If u want to drill hole for toilet accessories & blinds, try to get a 5.5mm concrete drill bit. The hole size is matching with the wall plug.

Be careful and drill slowly if u want to drill thru tiles, or u may break the tiles, pull the trigger slow slowly... tongue.gif

that's a good bargain, i guess u get all the wall plug, drill bit type, screws and all that eyh?

my father is a carpenter/buruh kasar..so i get to play with his toys now and then.. tongue.gif

the differences
1. power - depending on how much juice the battery has..the rotation get's slower..so u know when to charge..but at 100%..it's the same IMHO..
2. weight - definitely heavier as u have to factor in the power bricks weight

I used sub rm100 drill.. can drill anything from wood to cement & concete. I used it a lot to hang stuff on the wall and even to for wall clothes hanger/drier (this one uses 10mm drill bit, the biggest hole I ever made for DIY stuff)..

So, paying rm980 to do you DIY thing sounds crazy..

I use a basic low-end corded B&D drill. I think is 500W.

I only have the silver colour bits and use it both on concrete and tiles. My technique is use the smallest bit (2mm-3mm) first to drill a hole slowly into 2-4cm depth. Then only use the 5-8mm bit to widen it. So far never break a single tile. I drill both between tiles and directly on tiles. This make need some practise, try on some spare/broken tiles first.

Remember to disable the hammer-drill function, this is for concrete only.

Bosch range from RM few hundred to RM few k....
If you want to drill wall, get a rotary hammer drill... it can drill into concrete wall, but the price is expensive... cost RM1k+++

If wanna save money, just get B&D for DIY use as Bosch usually for heavy duty & professional use.
