He provided 3 days warranty which was over already. And he said the console is still under warranty as its only 5months old. But he lost the receipt. He said he doesn't know if the warranty covers 3RROD or not. Then i replied him then what is the warranty for. He said if its broken. But, I flipped the console and looked at the back there's a sticker stated no warranty if broken. This is confusing. What is the warranty purpose? Doesn't cover 3RROD doesn't cover improper handling then covers what?

thx for the reply on my topic. it is unfortunate for u bro,but if u want my honest opinion,u should've checked the set 1st before paying him anything.but the seller should also know what set did he buy from shop.lying la if he said he thought it was jasper not falcon.but,i've never had any problems buying any 2nd hand things from lyn,coz i always check 1st,and do research on the internet a bit,just a friendly advice .i see 2 ways to solve this,try and get a refund from the seller if u guys agreed to a personal warranty.if not,try and repair it yourself.i've seen a lot of people do it themselves,and it works.anyways,best of luck bro

Yea i admit I was wrong also for didn't check the stuffs properly and didn't do research before buying. But still second hand stuffs have no guarantees. The personal warranty he provided actually expired. Only 3days. But if repair might not work from what I've heard. Don't wanna take the risk anymore. Thanks for ur advice bro.

well,if that guy refuses to give u refund,then why not try to repair it.got nothin to lose rite? try la,never know your luck might turn around if i was you i'd open the xbox myself and try my best to make the most of it.but then its your choice if not,u can just sell it back as faulty unit.

Right now im trying to get him to refund or claim warranty. If none work then I might try like u said repair myself or sell as faulty unit but I really don't want to end up like that. I will try my best to solve it. Thanks a lot for ur suggestions.

We can't do anything much to help you, except to advice you to take this as a very painful experience and don't do it again. Many con sellers will purposely sound rushed(if don't pay up, they'll sell to other people) in order to tempt you.

Prevention is always better than cure.

next time if want to purchase any 2nd hand unit stuff, make sure to do some research. before dealing give it a try to ensure it is working. check everything properly and you wouldn't end up like this. ask him for refund, if he dont agree you have no choice but to repair it. just my 2cent opinion

wow i sold my jasper at the same price as u negotiated..

.another advice, plz be aware with newly registered user. u bought from a seller who only registered this month.

at least u do cod but too bad u never check the console whether it is true as advertised.

Dude, the fault is at the seller for incorrect advertising. If I were you I will get him straight and not blame to myself if such occurs.

But as everyone here mentioned, buy only new console. especially those with very high chance of failure like PS3, XBOX360 etc

I don't really think he's a cheater. The thing now is he did wrong in advertising his console. But when I asked for refund he put the blame on me. He himself offered me to check the stuffs carefully during cod. Still, its his fault for advertising wrongly. Jasper was actually Falcon, 512mb was actually 256mb. But he said its small matter as long as i can play it. I was looking for Jasper set, I confirmed with him 2-3times the specs. He said the same things but still ended up wrong. And refused to refund.

And I admit I didn't check the stuffs and do research before I buy. IF I get to buy another second hand stuff, I'll probably quadruple check the stuff thoroughly before I buy and if possible test it first.

the main prob here is the seller say that the console is a jasper unit..

he said its ur fault 4 didnt notice it earlier, WAT BULL IS THAT..kedai mamak when u order meals but get something else and u even taste it they will replace with the correct one..

who care if its 3rrod, falcon is a falcon, jasper is jasper..he as a seller should know and research which model he is selling to prevent something like this. say he didnt know, WAT ANOTHER BULL IS THAT, if didnt know why state that its a jasper..

lol if can go makhamah sure win one cause u agree 2 buy a jasper unit and the seller con u give a falcon..

my suggestion, fix that falcon and ask to swap ur falcon with a jasper from him..he must keep his promise that is sell u a jasper unit..if he refuse, go all ur kampung/taman/flat people and beat a crap out of him..

Just don't fall into this kind of mess like me. I admit I bought it impulsively. Was really unlucky though, I was going to save more money and get myself a new PS3 but saw that freaky offer and fell in it. Sigh.

Well first of all, he stated that it is a jasper and you didnt check on the spot nor even know how to identify a jasper.
You can only have yourself to blame seriously.

If this case goes to the court, i think the court will favor the seller. You gladly accepted the package on the spot and did not inquire anything further during the COD.

Sucks to be you, but basically there is really nothing you can do now.

I couldn't argue with him, this guy wants the money for sure and won't refund. I need to wait for his feedback first before I ring him again.

He has his own reason like I said. He bought from a game shop in Butterworth forgot where was it. He said, he bought the console with a tag there stated Jasper set and bought for RM1100+-. He didn't know it was actually a Falcon set so he advertised wrongly. But he didn't have any proof, no receipt no nothing. STILL, its his fault cuz he's the seller he claimed it to be a Jasper set and re-confirmed a few times. But later on I found out it is in fact a Falcon set.
I called him he just threw everything to me like he had nothing to do with it at all. He doesn't care to argue with you, he just wants to keep the money no matter what even if you rage or what he'll hang up the phone thats it. Hope you get what I mean here.

yeah that the main point..he advertise with wrong info, but he said he didnt know..ok then but when u ask again he also said it was jasper..how old is he 12??? if still kid then its forgivable cause a mature and responsible person should research about his own item before selling, not by guessing
