WoW doesn't use the extra cores in i5, so you essentially have a slower main proc unless you OC.
An OCed dual-core will give better bang for buck in this game. |

Well Blue has specifically said that practically everything is on the main core. Only minor sound and various misc processing is offloaded to the other cores. So yeah, fast dual-core is best for WoW.
Those rich jokers should just retrofit the engine to support multicore, at least we don't have to go into this gigahertz arms race just to be able to raid. Even a half-arsed multi-core support would mean we can continue raiding in Cataclysm with just a Q6600. |
