4670 just and entry graphic card . lower ur graphic setting . disable shadow . etc will imporve the performance .

for better performance

use . HD 4850 above or GTs 250 above.

I think you need more ram... WoW is extremely memory hungry I can have my processor usage at 30++ % and still lag like hell with 2GB ram... not to mention that you're using Vista...

WoW is a memory and proc hoggers, they love huge amount of rams and proc L3 cache.

It's not the RAM or your graphics card.

Your processor is too slow.

5670 performance is somewhere near 4770, so no.... 5670 is better than 4670, not the other way around.

i am running a hd 3870, and i have no probs with gfx..but.. i do reduce it .. you have to.. you can't max it unless you have a super card like 4850 or above i think.

updated mine from 9550 to 3650 and average fp is roughly 50+ and 20+ in lag-laran.

it's your setting mang... try lower the resolution to gain 30%-40% fp

WoW doesn't use the extra cores in i5, so you essentially have a slower main proc unless you OC.

An OCed dual-core will give better bang for buck in this game.

the last few patch have WoW ultilizing quads natively by default.

prior to that patch, you need to manually check affinity for the remaining cores other than 0 and 1 (your 1st and 2nd dual core, basically)
less work on task manager > wow.exe > affinity > check 2 cores > ok tongue.gif

so yeah, WoW does ultilizes quad cores, any more, i wouldnt know since i run on quad only

Well Blue has specifically said that practically everything is on the main core. Only minor sound and various misc processing is offloaded to the other cores. So yeah, fast dual-core is best for WoW.

Those rich jokers should just retrofit the engine to support multicore, at least we don't have to go into this gigahertz arms race just to be able to raid. Even a half-arsed multi-core support would mean we can continue raiding in Cataclysm with just a Q6600.

well its not just the lesser items that are offloaded, i have a x-fi titanium so for sure sound wont be offloaded, if anything its just physx that i dont have a physical card to take over, but WoW isnt too heavy on phsysics anyways rofl

and after said patch, all my 4 cores are running at same load btw tongue.gif
and rather heavy too at some 50-70%, as opposed to my XPS lappie's dual core almost constant 100% load rofl.

Set Shadow Quality to 'Low'. It improves performance greatly.

I'm using a HD4650, with everything maxed except shadows. Running at 80-100 fps, 60+ at populated areas & raids.

soitsuagain

I dun see what problem you guys are having, I'm running an old skool proc C2D which is already out of production and also the first mobo available in shops when teh C2D was released ( an MSI something). Using 4850 Gfx card, and I run it all on a 32inch Sony Bravia LCD on ULTRA! ( yeah it rocks so much on a 32inch tv). I dun get no problems in raids watsoever! it's AWESOME!!! ( especially with a 32in TV).

Oh btw, did i say it's just AWESOME running on a 32inch TV on 1080p!!
