E-P1 and E-P2 how muchie in Malaysia?

I just got myself a gf1. Playing around with it. I wonder where is the function to create or change the folder where the pics are saved. Seems like ther is no create folder in the settings. Hmm

Saw that post about GF1 going for 3K+ ... and now that you say that the EP-1 is going for RM2.35K

It's exactly the oppossite prices here in Taiwan   

Over here its the opposite... speaking in terms of both official and grey import goods.

All the Panny m43's potong price like hell... GF1 for example drop to around NT23K (RM2.3K)

But all the Oly stuff... price steady.. no drop. Tak logic wan.

E-PL1 - ~ RM2.5K
EP1 kit - ~RM2.8K
EP2 kit no EVF - ~ RM3K
EP2 kit+EVF - ~ RM3.9K
EOS 550D - ~ RM2.9K

seriously need a tripod for my next shoot on nelayan boats, sunset etc

any recommendation? (low budget..)

i was thinking like how to create a folder just to save all the pics snapped on that certain event so that i can easily transfer the whole folder to my comp from the SD card.

NEX5 pretty much destroyed the M43 market lol IMHO

I don't think so - at least for now NEX is far away from being perfect:

1. Lack of manual controls, for just changing ISO you may need a few presses to navigate thru the menu

2. Big size of lenses - I've no idea why many people are so attracted to the small and thin body, but with APS-C sensor the lenses (especially zoom) will be much bigger compare to a m43 sensor. In term of portability, M43 potential is still bigger than NEX

3. Not everybody likes its adventurous and futuristic design (Mr.LKM for example)

4. M43 has the 1 year+ advantage ahead of NEX. It's a joint venture by Olympus + Panasonic and it's by any chance more mature compare to NEX, for example - 3 lenses from NEX as opposed to 11 lenses from M43 as of now, not to mention M43's endless possibility to use legacy lenses via adapters

To say NEX5 is competing with M43 is right, to use the word "destroy" is an overstatement. At the end of the day, we as the consumers should be happy with the competition of these manufacturers and the choices we have

Actually i meant the Image Quality due to the APS-C sensor.Before the NEX3/5 was announced, everyone was saying how good a M43 system is, being so slim yet producing awesome results,boasting the M43 sensor.But with the arrival of the NEX3/5 with a much bigger sensor than the M43's with a slimmer form factor, for me, this beats the M43 totally(IMHO )

Well, the downside is probably the manual controls  .Like you said, changing the ISO takes so many steps while a conventional DSLR and M43? just press the button kao tim lol

Very well said. I am able to buy a Girl Friend 1 with 20mm pancake at RM2,700. Now the question is there any major drawback comparing m43 and the others.

what a dissapointment...expecting heaven n hell type of difference in results since they keep on emphasizing on the LARGER sensor..but guess they screw it...

this actually happened to me recently.. and I said yes since he was so close to me and I doubt he will not treat my GF1 nicely..

but the thing is, when it returned to me, I'm stunned by the shutter count reading.. when I handed it to him, it was around 11K..

guess what's the count now?

a staggering 40K!! my goodness.. i'm definitely sakit hati to see my camera life span shortened so drastically..

Nah.. he just capture and delete capture and delete.. it's only 8GB memory card~~ in the end only 1000++ picta...

luckily I didn't put in the 12GB that I use for daily... otherwise...
yeah every shutter has its life span.. for instance D90 is rated around 100k-150k.. but I've heard tonnes of stories about shutter died way below their rated shutter life span... it all depends on your luck..

I don't really know about the life span of GF1's shutter though..

Changing shutter will cost around RM300-400 (based on Canon 400D).. I'm worry the day of my shutter is numbered..
my friend's lappy has a software to check shutter count for panasonic camera.. he downloaded from some randon HK photography forum.. he told me about the shutter count when I gave him my card to transfer some photo...

but if the user reset and format the card then the count also hilang already, isn't it?

for me i have the most sought after pancake. hmm which zoom lens i wanna get next?

Wait until there's a constant f/2.8 zoom lens 

not really... The lousy filter will degrade the quality of ur picture

so that is why we need multi coated blah blah blah

u try to compare a B+W with a china brand then you'll see the difference

46mm Kenko UV filter... beware, i would say is china fake Kenko filter, is the ring feel like plastic? very light, easily can take off one.. ?

well.. here local store hard to find but you can try Marumi 46mm UV filter.. otherwise online purchase for b+w or hoya

after survey...RM1349 is the best for 20mm f1.7 panny
