useful if you need to take pics under the sun most of the time. can help to reduce shake a little as your face would stabilize the camera when pressing your eyes against the VF.

the pancake lens sold individually is around RM200 more expensive than the kit lens sold individually. but the GF1 with pancake lens is more expensive than GF1 with kit lens by RM200++. So it seems like it's more worth to buy the pancake lens individually. tongue.gif

ps. correct me if i'm wrong on the prices

Do u really need the zoom? I am a prime shooter mostly, not really a zoom person  smile.gif  20mm focal lenght is pretty much enough to cover everything from potrait to landscape
*
i bought GF1 with pancake lens since I wouldn't want to spend more money to get a separate lens while letting the kit lens collecting dusts. now i can have fun with the pancake lens and maybe aiming for super zoom lens tongue.gif

But if the dust is stuck quite hard to the sensor, would the supersonic vibration be able to shake off the dust?

btw, i wonder why sometimes I can lock the focus but actually the view is still blur? But sometimes not.

I experience it quite frequent recently on my kit lens and the 20mm as well

Hye guys..

Went for EPL-1 hunting yesterday at MidValley. Went to 2 shops, one is FOTOKEM & another one is Olympus Store (same level).

Well, actually now Olympus got some promotion until 15th July where if u buy a camera u get 1 or 2 free gifts or can buy accessories in cheaper price.

The salesman offer me:

1) EPL-1+kit lense+everything inside the box (d'uh)
2) this:
user posted image
3) 3 years warranty (normal is 1 year)
4) 8GB hi-speed SD card

Price: RM2599

What do u guys think? And how much is 20mm pancake lens that can fit EPL-1 without using adapter?

Sorry if my question is noob, I AM A NOOB! biggrin.gif
*
all micro 4/3 lenses can fit any micro 4/3 camera. anybody used pana zoom lens with oly pen cameras? can the oly cam uses the pana's lens mega OIS?

Panny 20mm + E-PL1 (food test)

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Exposure:  0.077 sec (1/13)
Aperture:          f/4.0
Focal Length:  20 mm
ISO Speed:  800

Sacrifice ISO bit since no much light blink.gif

edit with picasa for saturation
*
you can also set bigger aperture (set lower f-stop) to allow more light to expose. but need to be more steady holding the cam lo tongue.gif

sometimes, we need to have smaller aperture to capture more things...hehe... else, DOF too thin will lose all the nearby details..
*
you are right. i'm too fascinated with the bokeh tongue.gif yeah if want to shoot more details then need to have higher f-stop.

apparently the facebook lumix club has been bombarded by the fans due to their biased judging on the photography contest. http://www.facebook.com/mylumixclub
