AGP standa for accelerated graphic port i believe he was refeing to the onboard vid output port which is not exist on Giga boards.

Ehh this IGP is handy when something goes wrong with ur graphic card ie bad flashing, corrupted bios, dead, etc...

Just another big disappointment.
Even Asrock also include one DP for 1080p and above.
Watch out for a well used MIVE B2 board resoldered to Z68 chipset lol.

Nothing wrong for bechmark purpose cores can be turned off to 1,2,3 etc just to eliminate cooling limit when Pi is actually a single thread app. At some occasion dual cores yield better score. That's for Pi bechmark.

I don't mind getting the ASROCK now if I could sell it at RM100 loss to replace it with an ROG.
*
Let's give it another week or two. MSI also didn't release any Z68 in the market yet.
Good luck!

QUOTE(supervisionx @ May 16 2011, 01:34 AM)
guys,,, did  any of you read the news  z68 motherboard freeze?
try seach it at google
*
Doesn't seem to be Z68 issue. IMC failure is more likely which cause unable to boot/freeze/BSOD.
IMC is located in the CPU, but NOT the mobo. sweat.gif
It might also happen if VTT voltage is not pumped sufficiently to the chip.
If the CPU worked fine on P67, it will be running good on Z68 as well. That's it.
I'd treat that link as an isolated case and not all Taiwanese are the so called "debuggers" laugh.gif

* IMC = Integrated Memory Controller

so PCIE 3.0 will be enabled with just a bios update + IB CPU
I was wondering whether all other 6 series boards also can do the same.

Asrock is good but not better than Asus.
More bios options more playabilities on Asus.
But not many ppl play much with bios thus cant really see the differences.

This vid shows the main differences thumbup.gif

I'd grab Asus anytime bcoz it has FAR better auto dram settings.
Hook up any dram and let the board set everything for u automatically at ease.

Hey thanks bro for your effort bro. The video not exactly comparing between those two mobos. They focus on explaining the products features etc. I already googled the differences. Not so much of a different. More or less the same. They just add on some SATA and USB if i'm not mistaken.

and regarding the price between asrock z68 extreme 4 and p8z68-v pro based on the price given, the gap only around 30 - 40 bucks. I thought it would be around 70-80 bucks.  sweat.gif  Might as well go for ASUS. but 30-40 still can buy 3 good MCD meals.  nod.gif

Great link! Now i can see broader view of choices.  notworthy.gif
but from your personal recommendation, between Gigabyte z68 and Asus z68 mobo, which one would u prefer? .
*
I own their flagship mobos, Asus MIVE & Giga UD7.
No doubt Asus is FAR better than Giga in terms of voltage regulation, voltage accuracy, UEFI bios, bios support, good auto dram subtimings, playable skews, better PCB layout & theme & it is ROCKS!

Giga has sucks bios since their introduction of multi level LLC. Buggy as hell and causes insane vcore fluctuation during load & idle. Its OC is good for short term but not stable for 24/7 usage. U can look at how those buyers commented about UD7 in XS forum. I end up selling UD7 dirt cheap last month.

The "issue" with Asus is pricing. ASROCK isn't as bad and some may even prefer their PCIe spacing. The new Extreme7 is an excellent buy although there hasn't been any review/preview. However, I've read the whole manual and I noticed something funky about the board:

1) When PCIE2 is used (PCIE3.0 slot), the rest of the PCIE x16 slots would be disabled.
2) Extreme 7 has only ONE PCIE3.0 slot while extreme 4 and Fatal1ty has 2 slots. Why is it so?
3) Lots of negative reviews on Newegg. Believe it or not, Newegg has some of the most accurate reviews, as long as you ignore all the DOA posts.
*
strongly agreed with u, newegg is a good site to check pros and cons on any product in ur mind.
they will comment it in almost every aspect. thumbup.gif

about the pricing i think it is ultimately set by Asus Msia and distro
look at the SRP for MIVE-Z = blood sucking RM1559 yo! doh.gif
