hi guys,is the sandy bridge issue solved?and why the asus board - sabertooth P67 got R3 version?
R3 version meaning the sata port all can use liao?
*
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=ZYgjt71bzlh62Zk9
R3 has B3 stepping chipset, which has fixed SATA port issue.
Dont get confused with the revision number. the R3 should be referring to revision 3.0 of the PCB, not the chipset stepping

wah which means i cant upgrade to deluxe or M4E ? sad.gif

Depends on sellers, few pages back someome successfully upgrade an Asus board ar LYP. Indirectly these sellers earn profit coz intial price for Asus mobos was much cheaper than current price lol.

Dont worry guys ur mobo will be swapped very soon.
According to distro branch manager, I will get the Giga B3 by next week. Full set of old mobo is required for the 1 to 1 exchange. Should be followed by Asus on 15/3.

So when is the best time to swap  ? the exchange program is already on for asus ?

im thinking of upgrading to deluxe. but im not sure whether can or not.

but i don wanna wait for so long for exchanging since im from kuching.
*
Not sure how's the plan for Asus i will try to contact Alex from Build Tech later. When doing this swapping process be more careful on courier they use, just avoid Citilink as this courier service is well known for lost cases, Asus products. Ask distro to insure the parcel.

what can i do if the paper that mention about ONLY LGA 1155 socket only can fit in GONE already, mean i cant RMA it?
*
that sticker isn't that important, the most important thing is the CPU socket cover must be put at the socket.

My temp can hit near 80c when running prime95, adding 1mo blade fan for my cm hyper 212+ or better thermal compound will decrease the temp level?
*
I think he misunderstood ur question. rclxub.gif
2 fans setup (push pull) is always better than single. look at this tongue.gif

Tuniq TX-2 TIM is good enuf, easy to apply and smooth

Do u think adding 1mo fan and better thermal compound will effective decrease my cpu temp? or change a better cooler?
*
yes, for sure it will reduce the temp.

QUOTE(TristanX @ Mar 27 2011, 02:58 PM)
And you don't need push pull if the casing has exhaust directly behind the heatsink and in line of the airflow. It's a waste of electricity.

how many pci slots do you guys really use?

one is enuf, normally for PCI based sound card ie. X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro.
but since I'm using Xonar D2X PCIE right now, PCI is not needed anymore.

i7 2600k+asus P8P67 mobo +CM hyper 212+and HAF 912 casing.after install ,we find out in bios temp show up is 47-50c idle (all with default setting,NO OC yet)
why the temp is so high in idle ??is that normal ??
any 1 can give me know ASAP ? THX ^^

Looks kinda worse than stock cooler.
Reseat the cooler n replace the thermal compound if neccesary.

QUOTE(pslucd @ Apr 29 2011, 12:02 PM)
Remember that most games nowadays depend mainly on graphic card for performance and still do not take much advantage of multi-cores. In the same generation of processors, a fast overclocked dual-core will usually beat a slower quad-core.
*
I think this statement is abit outdated after the launch of 2nd gen Intel Core series.
Nowadays there r bunch of games take advantage of multi cores.

The Gigabytes are just disappointment.
No VGA/DVI/HDMI/DP output, no Lucid Virtu etc... nothing more than just a P67 with new Z68 chipset.
Asus ROG anytime!~

Sounds good but let's hoping for Giga fix on buggy BIOS like what happen to P67.
The multilevel LLC is not working correctly and fake voltage readings.
The top PCIe x1 slot is stil blocked by NF200 heatsink which is plain useless.
Same PCB layout design as P67, Giga Z68 is more likely built by just desoldering P67 chipset n resolder with the Z68 chip.
