It has truly been a wretched and rotten season..words really cannot describe how it feels, I cannot imagine how the players will feel. ominous signs for this weekend with Chelsea coming up.
Tough times pull us together. lets see whats in store for this weekend

If Rafa leaves, I dun see any top class manager who can bring liverpool forward next season. Roy hodgson? He is good but I doubt he can handle a world class club, not yet, but the magical part of football is its' unpredictabilty.. who knows he might bring us champion next year? how bout Mourinho? No doubt, he is good but I dun think he will come and manage a financially-constraint club like Liverpool. but then again, if Rafa stays, we also are unsure whether he is able to bring us any further compare to where we are now(remember last season when we got 2nd place, we are expecting to challenge for champion and look at where we are now). There are chances that we might still be able to finish in top 4. but champion? To be honest, its really unpredictable(the unpredictablilty comes in again =P).

1st thing 1st is that the yanks must be out and the new owner is able to provide blood injection to the club for manager to bring in fresh and capable legs. Im not hoping for the new owner to be as rich as ManCity of course. but at least if the new owner comes in and from there, we are able to buy player worth 20-30mio, I think thats more then enough already(rather then looking at players worth 1-2mio. and expecting them to bring us trophies, for me its abit ridiculous).

Just my opinion anyway.

you're forgetting something, Mourinho was managing Porto do you call them a top class club? no disrespect to the Portugese League but you hardly see them lighting up the Champions League do you?
yes no doubt he made his name by leading Porto to the finals and winning it and he made a name for himself once he came over to Chelsea winning the EPL on the first season. claiming that Hodgson cant handle a top club is nonsense, by the way he managed Inter and oversaw their own rebuilding at that time.

Well its all turning pear shaped for our club now tragically, its has always been leading up to this and to see it happening all in full scale glory is just sickening. Im just absolutely gutted I cant even imagine how the players would feel now

Here are some facts

Only 9 away wins in his last 3 full seasons in the Premier League.

Only 39 goals scored in both his two last full seasons in the Premier League.

Never got more than 59 points in a full season ever with any club in any league across Europe during his career.

Only managed 1.28 average points in the with Blackburn and 1.27 average points with Fulham in the Premier League, which is less than most mediocre English managers get with half decent clubs.

Not won a single trophy the last 10 years.

His biggest achievment the last decade is to reach a final in the UEFA Cup with Fulham, the same achievment Steve McLaren managed with Boro and O`Neill with Celtic.

63 years old when the seasons starts and is known for boring defensive football, something the fans have been witness of the last 10 years and are crying out for a change.

This is why Internet polls on Liverpool forums show an average of 75% of fans oppose this appointment. To me personally it feels like we've settled for a manager who is non confrontational, who will not give the owners any grief while they continue to destroy our club, and ultimately one whose record is far inferior to Benitez.

As for us being patient and blinkered about Benitez, that's another lazy statement. Most of us were bitterly disappointed with last season's campaign, and felt that Benitez got quite a lot wrong, but we felt he deserved our support and another season to dig us out of the mess he helped make.

But you go ahead and believe what Purslow's feeding you. It's easier than actually taking the time to do some proper research.

Well for all this trumpet blowing about Hodgson's record.. what you have fail to notice is that..Liverpool Football Club doenst have same personnel as you mentioned in your post like Blackburn or Fulham, If im allowed to say this, dont you think we have far more superior players compared to those 2 you mentioned?

rather than comparing the records it would have been more wise if you could possibly have put up name of potential candidates that could have done a better job than Rafa, can you name some of them apart from Dalglish? rolleyes.gif well which "international class" manager would have wanted to managed LFC considering the sea of murkiness it finds itself in? to manage Liverpool these days is a poison chalice, high expectations by the fans to challenge for honors every season, to win the EPL and to make things worse the Yanks

Im not opposing nor am i happy with the fact that Hodgson's appointment, but for the sake of the stability of the club, Im at least content that there is a manager in place to guide the club rather than some also ran boffins than knows nuts about managing a football club, Im ready to give him the time that he requires to bring the club back to at least to its respectable level

though I do agree with you on Rafa that he should have been given 1 more season to fix and figure out what went wrong, moreover I do infact think that reasons he was thrown out was more to the fact that he had constant confrontation with the owners and the club management on how the club shoud have been run, the man is and will always be one of us..a true Red to the core..and many of us are peeved to see him being shunted out in the manner that he was.but thats how football is tragically.

Oh oh oh, i cannae help it. Been keeping mum over the past few weeks while i ponder this, but having seen Benitez take over at Intermilan and stepping into Mourinho's shoes kinda for me confirms that the Rafa we first knew and loved has changed.

Where is the hunger and passion? What glory is there to be had by taking over a successful team built and managed by an ex-rival? hmm.gif

Just as he ruined a fair few players, I fear Liverpool has in turn ruined him sad.gif

I see so much of Rafa's qualities in you Madmoz..you're such an enigma might i add...You were his #1 critic in this forum since 3 seasons ago...and now that he left you in turn give him support? i dont mean it as a dig but you do possess all of Rafa's genes... laugh.gif
