dissapoint didnt go to final but what to do.. now on to next season!

big chances rafa will stay for one more season. hopefully the yanks will be kick out and new owner invest some money. get some quality players.

rafa has his faults and this season is his worse. but some fans are delusional saying that he has been totally crap. look at the club pedigree in europe before and after he came. look at the new system for youth and melwood that he improved. give some credit to the man. he may not won us the league but he has revived the club reputations (not this season obviously) if you say houlier was better probably you are just a kid back then to know any better.

people always said manager's success were measured by the cups he won. i cant totally agree with that because there were much more aspect to judge the successfulness of a manager.

QUOTE(led_zep_freak @ May 5 2010, 10:16 AM)
Good post, that. Things are so depressing at Liverpool, knowing that the club is crashing to the ground bit by bit. Before we know it we would be the next Pompey. sad.gif Until we get the new owners, the last thing we need is a change of manager. Don't forget that on the pitch Rafa represents for a lot of people. If he leaves, what would the players he brought in like Torres, Mascherano, Reina think (And I suspect that out of faith in Rafa that these players were persuaded to join us.)? More importantly, all the backroom staff were brought in by him - from the first team to the academy - what would they make of should he leaves? The instability in the boardroom level is chaotic enough already and it must not seep into the players or staff.

leaF, yes Aqua's transfer is paid by installments but so as most of the transfers. I'm sure Real Madrid didn't pay upfront all that 30m, regardless of how rich they are.
*
liverpool wont crashing to the ground like leeds, pompey and few others in these near futur because compared to those clubs.. liverpool is massive names in football. the legacy is way too great just to crumbled and die. the club will be easily snap by billionaires when its available. the only way liverpool is to fade away like once mighty nottingham forest is a strings of mediocre seasons and regelations after regelations.

most big signing is paid by installments. cant really remember any big signings paid cash upfront. maybe by chelsea when roman bought them.

QUOTE(Monstar @ May 7 2010, 11:28 PM)
You know what? If you are going to copy and paste, at least have the decency to acknowledge it and source it. http://www.xtratime.org/forum/showthread.php?t=245859

Oh, and use a more recent argument please. Half of what you copied are just regular drivel spun by the tabloids. Rafa have to work under a CEO that backstabs and sell stories to the media for his own gain, a chairman that is a die hard Chelski fan and runs a company that is paralysed by its own problems.,and 2 owners that to date, only agree to disagree.

I could come out with a point to disagree with your every copied point but you are probably too ignorant to acknowledge it. The thing is, this is the man that is fighting for the supporters. He is the only one shoving two fingers in front of the owners and telling them to fook off. I disagree with a lot of his on-field tactics and signings, but given the backdrop he has to work in, I at least see the rational behind it. I am not going to be a two-faced punk and disrespect the man that is fighting for us.

I am impartial to him leaving. That said, I expect the 'best fans in the world' to at least treat the man with more respect, the baseless assumptions and pure vile filth that some of ours churn out against one of OUR OWN is disgraceful. He fought hard for us, he brought us some good times, he is one of us, the least we could do is to at least let him leave with our respect and his dignity in tact. Too much to ask from you? Then you are a cancer to Liverpool. I hope you f*** off now. Please f*** the hell off to Mancland or somewhere.

PS: We are already out of the race for fourth. Forgot to change your second paragraph.
*
cheers mate! i'm with you. i cant believe some of the fans slagging rafa like all he did is bringing down the club. yes, purslow and yanks out!!!

when our first team sucks its much more worth to see the progression of our academy & reserve players..toni silva, david amoo, tom ince, raheem sterling was much more exciting to watch than kuyt, ngog & lucas biggrin.gif nod.gif
*
where exactly do you watched the young uns play? I would like to watched it too. last time there used to be a user to upload recordings of the youth/reserve games.

oh at last rafa is out. thanks for istanbul! sad you didn't give the fans proper goodbye.

QUOTE(radio_head @ Jun 4 2010, 03:18 PM)
Football was alot more tolerant back then, you had time, support of the board and fans. RB's tenure came in a period of time where clubs wanted instant success. And to be really really honest, you and I both know it wasn't one flop season. RB has time, 6 years in today's game is alot of time. Mark Hughes didn't have time, RB did. He had money, the geezer spent well over 250m quids. So I don't see what the problem is other then the problem is RB.

Liverpool fans like to identify themselves as a big club, one of the big four. Tell me, which big 4 club aims for 4th place? Managers are trying to guarantee 1st place while RB guarantees 4th place, and missed it by a mile.

I'd like to see if Torres and co will stick around if they dont reclaim 4th place again this year. A player of his calibre isnt going to play in the Europa League.
it a waste of time explaining again and again about RB transfers.. so i just skip that

but I doubt Torres will leave just because no UCL. he played for the mediocre Atletico even when offers coming from left and right. he might leave because of the uncertain future of the club. hopefully new owners with good money and less greedy will come in.

This my friend, is called riding you luck. But to win the UCL, you do need luck. So I take nothing away from this win. This might sound contradictary, but yea, it is a fluke to me but I give the devil his due and give credit.
*
agree luck is needed to win things. most people said istanbul was a fluke. the spirit of the team in the whole UCL campaign was phenomenal. and the team proved is not a fluke by going to final again 2 years after but no luck to win it. nobody called MU won against Bayern a fluke back then.

QUOTE(nando @ Jun 4 2010, 08:19 PM)
taken from football 365....the man just polarise opinions doesnt he...?

Thanks for Istanbul, for 4-1 at Old Trafford, for making John Terry cry twice, for buying Torres, for the "facts" rant when no one had the balls to say it before, for making Fat Sam look like even more than a tool that he is, for giving Sammy Lee a job again, for only losing 2 derbys in 6 years, for making that twat Parry quit at last, for going 99 games without naming an unchanged team and then keeping it the same to piss off the press, for making the academy what it should be, for the buddah pose, the goatee and the Rafatollah poster. For Luis Garcia Alonso and Momo, Pepe, Agger and Pacheco (but not for Degen). For making being a Liverpool fan the hardest job in the world. For the term Net Spend. But most of all, for making us believe nothing was a lost cause, no matter how s**t everything else seems.
*
exactly my sentiment. He may have some flaws but nothing can change that he bring improvement to lfc. This season was an unfortunate. And who would have guess decades of reading about the glories i could watch gerrard lift the big ol ears for liverpool? Gud times

Whatever ppl said about him i still think he's a good manager who got screwed by the suits in d boardroom.

If Kenny Dalglish can bring us victory, he'll remain legend.
If he couldn't deliver, he will be from HERO to ZERO.
*
anybody who'd label king kenny as zero obviously not a liverpool fan. he done more than enough to sealed his name as legend.. well, unless he lead the the team to relegation for 3 straight seasons:p

though i believed he's too rusty to become a good manager..

Kenny Dalglish has put himself forward for the Liverpool manager's job after telling the Anfield hierarchy that he wishes to withdraw from the selection panel.

A testament to what a great guy he was.
Walk on Benitez, bless you and all the best at Inter. thumbup.gif

shows how man of class that he is. a mere journeyman manager wouldn't do such thing IMHO.

chelsea just bid 50M for torres!! (soccernet). should we take? if torres go, gerrard will be thinking to go again, mach also will want to go...that leaves us with what??
*
first rafa sacked then yossi move on and now they reignited their interest on torres? can't help thinking the fakap temporary LFC chairman who is a self proclaimed Chelsea fan got something to do with this..

i think torres will stay for another season but if he choose to jump ship.. good riddance! same goes to all the players that thinking the same thing

poor lucas must be feeling unwanted by rafa...wonder who will go inter next...
aurelio has a italian passport...so lets see...

most probably gonna happen.

he never looks like he gonna stay long at liverpool as soon as benitez makes him big. thats why he has been delaying the contract negotiations for months.

anyway, thanks for the memories! goodbye and good riddance!

another player comes out to tell the truth about rafa

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/ju...ayoun-liverpool

"If I played well, I never felt he gave me credit," he told the News of the World
any proper liverpool fans knows that anything from News of the World is utter garbage and shouldn't be taken seriously. News of the World = Sunday
s The S*N

Btw, good to see Torres pic with Liverpool scarf. Make me wonder, would any other player do the same?

Liverpool/Rafa made Torres big.. same goes to Masch, Alonso and Reina. That's fact.. the player would agree to that.
