QUOTE Over 100 mill. You guys are the third largest spenders during Benitez times and he complains that he has nothing to spend. Of course your net spending is 10 million over 2 years but that was because charity club like Real Madrid can spend 30 million buying Xavi Alonso that is worth perhaps maybe 10 - 12 Mill the most? I'm sorry, what? Xabi Alonso worth 10 mil? How can you say that when Xabi Alonso is right now, at this very moment pulling the strings in the middle of the park for Real Madrid. No one, except for maybe Xabi has the same range of passing as Alonso. And to think that Lee f***ing cattermole is worth about 10 mil too. There is no comparison, really. Also, can people get off Rafa's back when it comes to transfers? When Rafa arrived in Liverpool, he inherited a shit squad from Houllier which included FIRST TEAM players like Bruno Cheyrou, El hadji Diouf and many others. In 5 years he has totally overhauled the squad, adding many WORLD CLASS players to the fold. Compare the squads now and then and tell me that torres, mascherano, reina, agger, benayoun, aquilani and glen johnson isn't a step up from diouf, smicer, dudek, and traore. What really gets to me is that the media, and MU fans easily look pass their own manager's failures in the transfer market, but amplify the ones that Rafa makes(which are few and far apart). Veron for 30mil? Berbatov for 30 mil? Please.. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ May 5 2010, 12:42 AM) Yes, and but Yes we have plenty of world class players. This season, however..injuries has played a huge part in our poor form. Imagine United without Rooney for more than half the season. This season has f***ed us over in terms of injuries. Torres, Gerrard, Agger, Skrtel, Benayoun, Aquilani and Glen Johnson have all been injured for extended periods of time. Thats almost half of our first team right there. With the world class players he have, the players capability is not brought up in the pitch, and this season performance and final end result is as good as during Houllier time. No offence. MU fans can look pass because even AF bought some expensive players that not able to perform, but the team performance and result still rather good in general, the whole team still able to deliver. 5 away wins for the entire season speaks out why the world class players capability is not brought up at all. There is little point of having world class players if they cannot deliver in the team play. The bottomline is, our squad isn't good enough. When you look at our bench, we have babel, el zhar, ngog and pachecho. Now look at Chelsea's bench. Look at MU's bench. Hell, even City has a better bench than us. Our first team is good enough to defeat any team in the world on our day, even barca. Our subs however, needs to be improved. |

Actually, anything above 70 mil is a great steal for us, considering Torres is always only fit for half the season games.
With that being said, I don't want Torres to go. Unless a certain Lionel Messi replaces him =) |
