Wah, Gerrard has gone from bad to poor man ..
I think he's affected by everything but really, he should do better as captain. He seems to be the weaklink so far in this game.

Talking about dignity, Burnley is obviously more desperate to survive in the PL than Liverpool is to finish the season with dignity ..
We started 'well' only because Burnley started nervously. Overall, we look off-colour ... again

I cannot help but feel that it's pathetic. To come from such an illustrious family and not being able to garner the support of other wealthy Merseysiders or Britishers to invest. To profess such a passion for LFC and yet not retain a minority share just to ensure that the new owners keep their promises.
I remember him rejecting the proposals of a wealthy fellow supporter for reasons best known to himself. Seemed like he preferred to go soliciting for a non-English investor at that time. The fact that he even considered Thaksin doesn't speak well for his wisdom or lack of it.
In any case, isn't this "appeal" a bit late? At the height of the spat between the owners, Benitez and Parry, shouldn't he have written/said something? Wasn't the writing on the wall at that time already? Oh of course we had a case of the dead-cat-bounce last season didn't we when we almost won the Premier League? (That also led to our present predicament of not being able to sack the manager without losing another 20+ million!)
If I were him, I'll just shut up and quietly go networking to hasten the process of relieving the club's pain in the neck in the form of the yanks!

Answer : none of the above
.... if the greedy yanks are still around
They are the no.1 problem! Getting rid of Benitez will not make people forget this fact ..
The fans should take them to some tribunal/arbitration court to make them lower their asking price ... if that is possible.
In the meantime, bringing back the old boys to help out should be a good thing for our favourite club i.e. Sammy, Kenny, Phil Thompson etc.

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Jun 9 2010, 04:35 PM) Kenny Dalglish has informed Liverpool's hierarchy that he wants to manage the Reds for the second time in his career, according to a report in The Sun. [ The Sun is trash. Has been an 'enemy' of the Kop since the Hillsborough tragedy. News from them cannot be trusted, much as I would love to have Dalglish as Liverpool manager again! For someone with passion, whether there's funding or not, always go back to former Reds : Dalglish, Phil Thompson (Houllier's assistant), Sammy Lee (he may not be good enough though and I think he also knows that). Failing which, I would love to see a Brit at the helm for a change ..

He's a gentleman, a kind man and a good manager. Not in the same class as Shankly, Paisley and, even Dalglish, but he understands the game alright. Somehow Liverpool never attracted the rude, abrasive, aggressive and abusive type of manager ... thank God!
Surprisingly I read rumours that he intends to bring Mascherano and Kuyt to Inter .. but no mention of him taking Lucas, his blue-eyed boy!

QUOTE(anip94 @ Jun 15 2010, 02:04 PM) Where did you get this news from? I could not find it on the official LFC site nor the BBC official site - only found it in the Gossip page. Benayoun is a very good player but I felt Benitez didn't get the best out of him. Hope he won't leave. If he does, I hope he will not be at another PL team because he will come back and 'haunt' us..

The following is from medial reports extracted from the official site :
"However, the Liverpool Echo claims that "Reds officials have moved quickly to make it clear they have not entered into discussions with their Chelsea counterparts - nor are they in any hurry to do so."
The Liverpool Echo also reports that Benayoun is almost certain to leave Anfield this summer, having set his heart on securing a final big money move late into his career. Yet Liverpool officials are reluctant to let Benayoun leave without a fight.
Benayoun's Liverpool contract is set to expire at the end of the 2012/2013 season."
Well, then ... looks like he will certainly be leaving but not necessarily to Chelsea although, for him to get a big money move, it will either be Chelski or Man City ... if he wants to stay in the PL.
He's the Israeli captain - LFC should certainly hold out for more!

King Kenny is the right man ... always has been!
I would like to change the topic : last night I watched Skrtle supposedly 'starring' for Slovakia. The match itself was rather boring and towards the end of that game, I found myself hoping that the Kiwis won't lose! Skrtle was playing too deep to be Slovakia's key man and his team-mates were looking more and more disinterested during the last 5 minutes - holding out for a 1-0 win : was that Skrtle's influence?!
I rather enjoyed watching Agger and Kuyt play the other night.
Tonight I hope Torres will do well and perhaps, that Reina will be allowed to play against the Swiss minnows - that should be rather nice.
Takes my mind off all these problems surrounding the Reds..

Oh please ... why go for proven failures? and they don't even come cheap!
Judging by the performances at this world cup, ..
Gerrard : is off-colour by his own standards Johnson : is average Carra : is really slower Kuyt : is actually pretty good Torres : is not a miracle cure Reina : has a good chance to become Spain's no.1 Krygiakos : deserves more first-team appearances Mascherano : is a key player and should not be sold Rodrigues : is still good enough to play regular PL football Agger : is a key player Skrtle : is over-rated

I've always preferred a British manager to handle LFC (English, Scottish, Welsh or Irish) because they would have more passion for our club. Most of the continentals tend to be cold/professional and money-oriented : pocket alot and buy alot too - literally no money, no talk!
Besides Dempsey, I hope Hodgson (if he really takes the job) will also bring in Duff and Konchesky.
Common sense not money-sense, is what LFC needs ...
Of course our greatest need now is .... new owners!

Give Roy a chance. Stop harping on his "lack of success" at Fulham. LFC is not Fulham. LFC has a richly talented squad that, in my opinion, was not well managed and utilised : players being played out of position, being dictated how to play and the team not given the time to gel (replacing players every season resulting in players having to adjust all over every season) are some of the examples.
Hopefully, Roy's perspective will be different and his management style will be more sensible. Judging by the way he managed Fulham and other squads, we can cautiously optimistic.
Sell those whose hearts are no longer with LFC, don't buy unnecessarily, let players play to their strengths and allow time for the squad to work together and gel - these are my hopes.
I'm hopeful for season 2010/11 ... why not?

Benayoun gone to Chelski for 6m already!
Bidding for LFC should start around mid July. Hope for the best lah .. what else can be done?
Hope we won't lose any of our key players and manage to get some good British players instead ... impossible? .. that's why I say : HOPE
