well. the AT gathering have woodies, just no w5000 which is what im curious with actually ><
i dont see myself purchasing anymore headphones as at the end of the day i still favor open speakers more than anything. that could probably change if the pads for flagship/higher end reference headphones can actually solve my sweating issue. i know for a fact that the comfort level/quality of higher end headphones do beat out lower range ones ^^; |

Anyway you had a changed to listen a W2002 which is a flagship and also a anniversary version which is much more better an d different from w5000. Went actually W2002 is a the highest flagship before L3000 is produce in market. Now the ATs highest flagship model is L3000 which world only has 500 unit only. W2002 only produced 1000 unit in worldwide market. i see i see.and oh wow, did some googling, and it cost 2k usd for the L3000. wtf rofl |

QUOTE(Akabane@DrJackel @ Apr 29 2011, 06:57 PM) is already worth more than 2k usd already....i bought my W2002 is USD1.5k with a superb condition which no ding/no scratches on the surface of woody like new. even this headphone used less than 24 hours and keep for 9 years lol...you can think how much now the value of the L3000 now. with a nice condition i got offer price at least RM15-18k for one unit. also actually do you know there is a limited to limited version ??? L3000G is only 50 unit in the world. So means the Normal one is only 450 unit + 50 Limited to limited version. You can have a look on the Audio Technica Japan Official Website. oh lol i didnt see this post, however you've explained it during the gathering so its all good Tomorrow is the day of the gathering...now actually i'm packing my stuff to see you all... |

QUOTE(TechMy @ May 3 2011, 03:01 PM) Yupz, i am currently using Ad1000prm. haha i see. btw i just did a damn ghetto quick mod on the crossroads stand. remember the sponge thingy that akabane took out from his hippo case? i took that out, cut it, and stick 4x small sponge thingy with blu tac to the cross roads stand. voila no more metal marks on the headphone pad LOLAt this moment i am satisfy for it's sound, thank you guys for the news. For me, i'm not planning for the cable replacement. But for other owners this info could be very helpful. |

QUOTE(sheenho @ May 20 2011, 11:17 AM) @Quazacolt thanks, was a lot of effort.jpg, and a whole lot of reading up/researching/references etc lol.wow.. nice review u've written there.. i can never wrote the review so detail like that.. XD well, learned a lot during the process (especially the terms, or even basic things like component names in a drum set) so its all worth it i'm sure if you put in the effort, you could prolly come up something like mine, if not better too. after all, just like you, i didn't think i could even write the review i wrote as i've written down at the start of of the post (the post itself taken up 1-2 weeks or so to complete lol) |

QUOTE(barry80 @ May 21 2011, 02:05 AM) Quazacolt, this is such a awesome review!!! read it all, & u got me into audio technica bcoz of ur remarkable review... thanks for the kind words ^^so, which AT headphone you plan to buy? lol also, do note that my preference for the headphone/music is still of my own. everyone's preferences in music is highly subjective. I would always suggest that you make a trip to jaben for auditions before committing into a purchase without regrets Added on May 21, 2011, 5:20 am QUOTE(Hitman66 @ May 21 2011, 04:33 AM) For those who are interested on ATH-AD series I think you should check this out really good link you've shared right there! definitely a good insight for anyone who is an AT-AD series fan (me! lol)http://www.headfonia.com/audio-technica-ad...1000prm-ad2000/ while i've only glance through the post (will read it further in precise when i wake up later on, its 5:20AM now seeing the below in quote just makes me feel that my purchase was one of the best i've made in my audiophile path so far (so much that it compelled me to write up a damn lengthy review, something i didn't think i could ever do in the first place) QUOTE The AD900 may be my personal favorite in the line up. It takes the same basic spacious sound from the AD700, and adds a touch of warmth and a fuller body from the AD700 sound. What you get is a more musical headphone than the AD700 (in a way similar to the AD300), but without sacrificing the detail level or the airy sound that you get on the AD700. In short, it’s a fuller sounding AD700 headphone. The AD900 is placed rightfully below the AD1000PRM and the AD2000 in the line up as it doesn’t offer the extra refinement you find on the AD1000PRM and AD2000. However, in terms of tonal balance, the AD900 is actually better than the two higher up model or the AD700 below it. It doesn’t have the upper mid coloration of the AD1000PRM or the lower mid coloration of the AD2000. This is probably the best buy model in the AD line up as it gives you the full flavor of what the AD series is all about, while being a better all rounder than the top two headphones in the line up. The AD900 is very likable and would be the model I’d recommend out of the line up, provided that you have the budget for it. The higher end AD1000PRM and AD2000 are definitely more special, but they also come with their own colorations that may come off as unnatural on some recordings. The AD900, on the other hand, is more natural and should have a far better genre bandwith than the two higher up models. hell, my original budget was only barely able to cope the AD700, however music reproduction on the AD900's was significantly better (and having 2 rather "contrasting" music to audit with helped a TON!) than the AD700 and not to mention, silver/black would always beat purple in my book XD This post has been edited by Quazacolt: May 21 2011, 05:20 AM |

QUOTE(barry80 @ May 21 2011, 10:28 AM) well, currently on use the sennheiser hd 558 that bought from jaben not long ago. still not fully utilize & need some time for burn-in process. gettin a new AT headphone? i might get the similar open cans ad700 real soon... i see. senns are pretty good too. just that i feel that its not worth buying them in SEA region unless you're able to import from say, UK for example. distributor for senns in SEA region isnt doing a good job on keeping prices low and when you compared with other brands (like beyers from jaben) its just really not worth it >_< |

QUOTE(slimfox @ Jun 2 2011, 09:40 PM) Guys what do you think of buying Audio-Technica headphones in Low Yat Plaza?? Saw a few there and it is tempting.... if you're scared, buy from official AT distros then, or jaben, or some of the more reputable forumers selling AT products on LYNI'm kinda afraid of getting china look alike AT. |

QUOTE(eXtreMe_cK @ Jun 4 2011, 01:57 AM) hey guys .. izzit worth to get AD300 ? coz the price is within my budget http://www.headfonia.com/audio-technica-ad...1000prm-ad2000/it doesnt give that AD series feel, however for the budget, it is a good headphone as mentioned from that review. if you CAN stretch out ur budget, save up etc, i highly recommend the AD900 (as with the review as well |

QUOTE(Akabane@DrJackel @ Jun 4 2011, 10:10 AM) haha..if more money can save straight go for AD2000.. haha flagship sure no need to say. however id prefer if they make another revision of the AD2000 like the 1000 PRM. cuz from the headfonia review, seems like its position being a flagship is shaky, epsecially when the 1000 PRM was attempted to replace it (which is quite a wierd move from AT, maybe something experimental) |
