Guys I just tried PU-er with 'cham hiong' wood. Super nice taste and super de-stressing. Make sure you get the vietnam one, from what I found out its the highest quality.

I would advise you guys to get to know a shop real well then buy from them, these fairs you go look see taste taste ok la but you can also get con at fairs. I kena before at a tea fair in the mines. Bought some tea equipment, told me can claim warranty from their shop. Turns out its a ghost shop.
Tropicana fair I kena fake tea. Gave up on fairs. Now I only buy from shops I'm familiar with for expansive tea or just go taiwan to get better tea at cheaper price, can say HK is also cheaper too. BTW I drink oolong and ti kun yan green tea, not much of a po-le fan. Just sharing hope did not offend anyone. |

QUOTE(Hou_JaI @ May 26 2014, 02:13 PM) i have shifted from drinking coffee to tea these days and i immediately find the health changes (positive changes). I am not so "heaty" anymore. skin getting better, less big pimples on the face, can start eating more fried/spicy food now, previously, it will cause a lot of pimples on myjawline. Tea also helped me in the morning, helped on my bowel movements. If you can feel the difference from drinking such normal tea, imagine the difference when you start on raw green Ti Kun Yam or Taiwan Oo Loong. I don't think it comes in a bag and if it does its not the good stuff. Remember RAW tea is the best.I drink the following tea regularly (2-3 packets a day) - English Breakfast - Chamomile - Lady Earl Grey please recommend me other good tea in packet form! would like to try some chinese tea that brings good health benefits too and where can i buy them and something about TWG, its SOOOO nice but SOOOOO expensive! RM 60 for 1 box compare to twinning RM 15 .... |

QUOTE(Hou_JaI @ May 26 2014, 04:18 PM) what are the "equipments" required to make such teas? can provide more information on what are the tea types with their benefits? and also where can i get them and the prices too. Oh those I recommended won't cost you that much. Top range about 1-2k. You need a pot and any cup. I drink from a mug but pour from a proper pot. Just learn from the shop the proper way to brew and you are good to go. I know some chinese teas range from 10k - 20k You can get from hojo in mid valley or china town. |

QUOTE(quikstep @ Jun 22 2014, 11:01 PM) hello! i think u bought during the 20-40% sale? Best to clean properly before using. I do it by boiling after scrubbing for half a day at least with old tea leaves. I have a few pots in that price range and they all perform well.PC generally trustable IMHO. They will quite honestly tell u that it's 1/2 manual when that is the case. if the pot you bought looks generally like the pics, then i'm sure it's not a chemical pot at least. |

QUOTE(quikstep @ May 18 2015, 11:51 PM) Done that, had one where its kum kum aftertaste too. Most expansive Pu I ever drink was one my boss bought (cost more than a modern low cost house 1 beng). Pu is nice but I seem to lock on to the Oo Long flowery taste If Taiwan high mountain lagi But lately forced into Ti Kwan Yin. Friend went to China and Taiwan, requested buy Oo Long but he ended buying Kwan Yin and lots of it. So now getting my Kwan Yin pot to shine like my Oo Long pot. |

QUOTE(quikstep @ May 19 2015, 03:48 PM) old pu-erh will loose the fragrance and that's natural. try top grade new thousand year old tree pu-erh Try well kept 20+ years raw Pu (must be raw, you got con if its ripe 20year old Pu). Loses fragrance because some idiots keep one beng for 20 years and think they strike it rich already, proper way to keep is keeping it with lots and lots of other Pu. One day I go to my friend's warehouse again I take a photo to show you what I mean. Its like wine. Must be kept well and correctly, bro.Old tree raw Pu still hard to drink if still young. For raw Pu, I think the minimum you have to keep is still 8 years (maybe 6 if kept here). Sorry I don't drink ripe Pu. Oo Long is way different. Drink it while it is fresh. Once open its a rush to finish it. Oh ya I drink raw Oo Long not the ripe ones. I like the green colour, raw young Pu is also greenish. Actually young Pu is very hard to drink. Need time to mellow out the taste and for it to show its true character. As it ages the colour darkens and after more than 10years it starts to look like the ripe Pu colour. The ripening process is artificial. You never get the true taste and character of the Pu. But then due to the high demand that is the only way to produce enough for the masses. Hence the high price of raw aged Pu. Go try you will like it. Advise: don't go to shops to try old Pu. Try from collectors. You get better Pu. Shops they have to make money so they will sell anything (from personal experience) |

QUOTE(quikstep @ May 19 2015, 09:57 PM) QUOTE(patryn33 @ May 19 2015, 10:15 PM) How to get stuff from collectors if cannot go shop? The key is networking. Where to buy locally or overseas? Please share contact info Is there still high demand for tea? I read a lot of farmers are converting to coffee as they bring home more money True story here. One of my secondary school seniors kept Pu from his form 5 days. Just last year he took it out to finally give it a taste. We were surprise, was pretty good actually since he bought it for only rm 5/beng. Now that tea is about 15years old now. He is not a trader just a collector and a tea lover with a huge wallet. You like Pu you will like his collection now. About one warehouse full now. My boss on the other hand is also crazy about tea. And he buys mostly expansive teas. Hence my opportunity to sample those too. Having said that, my preference is still Taiwan high mountain Oo Long |

QUOTE(patryn33 @ May 20 2015, 06:52 PM) Your story didn't really indicate networking, but more by chance. Nah I was blessed with having a boss who introduced me to wonderful tea and more importantly teached me how to appreciate good tea. Then a schoolmate whom I never would have guessed to share this passion and started at such a young age.Networking - where to go network? If stores owner not reliable. How to go about finding such person? Your tale tells me go buy now and store them and wait For you I would suggest that the next time you are at the shop sampling tea, be more friendly with other customers than the sales girl or boss. Who knows, you might meet others who are truly passionate about tea. I found most of my other kaki's this way. Once you have the network then you will start to get your exposure to really good tea. Put it this way, humans like to show off. If you have a group of them then surely they will be showing off among themselves. Do remember this BTW, good tea might not be expansive and expansive tea might not be good because there are so many factors involved. That is why when you find good tea stop everything and just enjoy the tea. |
