i more towards multitask usage. not a gamer anyway. this model runs well n a bit hotter than my current asus a42 series.
*
i'm afraid the main reason to get this model is for multitasking too hmm.gif cause my gf and I are both in the architecture course. So multitasking is a must somehow sweat.gif but since it runs well with multitasking, is the heat tolerable?

I heard that the lenovo y580 will also come with a gt 640 gpu. Anyone here knows the exact specs for the Malaysian Y580 and also the arrival date?

is LE which slower core clock but they manage to fit ddr5 memory so overall peformance r still good in gaming , manage to get diablo 3 medium to max with no stuttering , temperature ilde at 5x-6x c but when gaming max temperature is 79C , hardly reach 80c and above so the heat jus workin fine , u guys feelin hot probably the palm rest there , metal makin it hot i assume and 14inch as well

If the Asus G55VW is not available by then, I may get the Y580 smile.gif. Heard that it runs a little hotter than the G55 though.

The G55 will have better cooling. Probably it's best to wait for some reviews on the Y580 and determine if the GPU gimped.

Yeap, is Lenovo's after sales service better or worse than Asus.

Currently, I haven't decided on whether to get a Lenovo Y580 FHD(should be available in Malaysia by August) or an Asus G55(non-3d).
I plan to upgrade the RAM to either 12GB or 16GB.

What is the maximum amount of RAM for the Lenovo Y580?
