ok guys , bought the lenovo y480 free-dos version , to be notice , the cd driver is a MESSED !! simple say the driver inside the disc all of them cant be used , u will end up installing error or file not found etc ,

so i decided to go to the lenovo web site to download the driver from there...

first attemp the intel chipset software was successful hence it jus 2.4mb

2nd attemp , the audio driver , indicated 151mb but no matter how many times i try to dl it jus end up 93mb , seems like their upload link broken!!

same goes to some other driver as well !!

ok , dis is serious fed up , the driver either from site or cd jus make u crazy , googled the problem seems like free-dos user having the same problem thou dis set was extremely new model so u wont get much solution..


IMO , if u dun mind go all these troubling in free-dos jus go ahead and get one to save ur budget else , jus get the window version

btw , lenovo.com.my server gave up , trying different lenovo server now


now i jus can search for solution and watching my driver-less y480

Added on June 4, 2012, 9:19 pmhi pal ,for ur temp issue u can google and download coretemp to monitor the temp , usually normal temp would be around 5xC when gaming would be around 7x-8xC

and more detail about ur encounter?like wad u trying to click den make u lag?

manage to get the necessary driver from US server , n workin on the nite for the stutpid driver , settled so far , phew

u can go to the site hav a check , y580 probably come with gt650

is LE which slower core clock but they manage to fit ddr5 memory so overall peformance r still good in gaming , manage to get diablo 3 medium to max with no stuttering , temperature ilde at 5x-6x c but when gaming max temperature is 79C , hardly reach 80c and above so the heat jus workin fine , u guys feelin hot probably the palm rest there , metal makin it hot i assume and 14inch as well
