If the Asus G55VW is not available by then, I may get the Y580 smile.gif. Heard that it runs a little hotter than the G55 though.

Anyone have comments on lenovo's aftersales service? biggrin.gif

Yeap, is Lenovo's after sales service better or worse than Asus.

Currently, I haven't decided on whether to get a Lenovo Y580 FHD(should be available in Malaysia by August) or an Asus G55(non-3d).
I plan to upgrade the RAM to either 12GB or 16GB.

What is the maximum amount of RAM for the Lenovo Y580?

wow, why do you need ram up till 12 GB?

Even when I do image editing in Photoshop and multitask, the ram usage just reach around 6 - 7 GB, lol.

I agree with you. I plan to use this laptop for engineering simulation & currently 8GB should be more than enough but as I will probably using this laptop for the next 3~4 years, I want to make sure that the RAM is sufficient to cope with future software upgrades.
