i have some pointers in my mind that i like to share.
all are hypothetically functional.

update: field trip result from pcfair on saturday

Pre-Event
1. recharge your batteries.
2. check your gears, bring good portraiture lens e.g. 50mm 1.8
*i am a budget shooter, and shoot the whole day with only 50mm 1.8, result is above average. will post picture later.
3. bring along your battery charger, or extra batteries.
*no need battery charger, what viking said is true.
4. bring a model posing guidebook e.g. handy book from taiwan photographer Black Noodle
*not so useful, unless u stay for a long time, and the ambassador is new. those veteran ambassador won't even look at it. haha

Event
1. dress nicely.
*decently will do.
2. show your camera to the model u intended to shoot.
3. say "hi"
*or make some gestures that u intend to shoot her. so far, only 2 ladies behind the counter refused to take pic, while other will automatically pose for u
4. fire away.
*i only took some pictures. should have taken a lot more from different angle, with half body or full body shoot.
5. suggest some decent posing idea by showing the model the posing guidebook.
*if u still lepak around and lesser ppl nearby, u actually can ask them to pose some special move e.g. 5 lian pai with facial gimmick. i dun know how posing book will work here as the ambassador usually don't move a lot.
6. if u tag along other photokaki, i might suggest one of u to use the reflector.
*everyone is busy shooting, no time for this.
7. ask "would u like me to send the photos to u?"
*i don't ask this as i forgot to bring my pen and notepad.
8. contact time if the model say "yes".
*you should bring a pen and write down the details!!

Post-Event
1. review pictures.
2. change camera setting or perspective (point of view) if needed.
3. find next model.
*as you go for a few round, u will get the hang of it. try to time your round. u wont want your model shot looking hungry and tired. Best time will be after their lunch or dinner, or after they refreshed themselves.

Pasca-Event
1. post processing.
2. remember to send the model the pictures.
3. Don't forget to post in LYN pc fairs chick thread!!
* will post pic, very soon!

Thank you very much for reading.

and feel free to add more pointers.

viking comments are very useful and helpful too. thanks viking!!
It is a plus point if u have large screen dslr to show the model what shot u 've taken.

p/s: for this field trip, i use canon 550d with 50mm 1.8 II prime lens only. Setting is shutter priority (Tv mode) set at 1/200, picture style : portrait, with max iso to 3200.

maybe if we meet the ambassador outside during lunch break, then the book might be useful.

Notice the awkward position of the hand clutching to the seat?

Usually those that say no are the one working behind the counter.
When i gestured to take their picture, they just shy away, and i just walk away.

The gang that i tag along on saturday.

yeah, i noticed some are oof too.
btw, i use photosizer to resize all the photos here, so more or less there will be lost of quality.
and i lazy to try post-processing yet.
any good way to resize but mantaining the sharpness?

lol, dun kacau my thread here.
shoosh, shoosh....

back to topic, i use Fotosizer and the sharpness is reduced a bit when i resize from 15mb files to 800kb files.
i might try shooting other subject to test my lens for sharpness later.

what do u mean by red?
if it is the lighting, i only use the ambient light without any flash.
or u can try to play with the white balancing from the camera.
