i have some pointers in my mind that i like to share.
all are hypothetically functional.

update: field trip result from pcfair on saturday

Pre-Event
1. recharge your batteries.
2. check your gears, bring good portraiture lens e.g. 50mm 1.8
*i am a budget shooter, and shoot the whole day with only 50mm 1.8, result is above average. will post picture later.
3. bring along your battery charger, or extra batteries.
*no need battery charger, what viking said is true.
4. bring a model posing guidebook e.g. handy book from taiwan photographer Black Noodle
*not so useful, unless u stay for a long time, and the ambassador is new. those veteran ambassador won't even look at it. haha

Event
1. dress nicely.
*decently will do.
2. show your camera to the model u intended to shoot.
3. say "hi"
*or make some gestures that u intend to shoot her. so far, only 2 ladies behind the counter refused to take pic, while other will automatically pose for u
4. fire away.
*i only took some pictures. should have taken a lot more from different angle, with half body or full body shoot.
5. suggest some decent posing idea by showing the model the posing guidebook.
*if u still lepak around and lesser ppl nearby, u actually can ask them to pose some special move e.g. 5 lian pai with facial gimmick. i dun know how posing book will work here as the ambassador usually don't move a lot.
6. if u tag along other photokaki, i might suggest one of u to use the reflector.
*everyone is busy shooting, no time for this.
7. ask "would u like me to send the photos to u?"
*i don't ask this as i forgot to bring my pen and notepad.
8. contact time if the model say "yes".
*you should bring a pen and write down the details!!

Post-Event
1. review pictures.
2. change camera setting or perspective (point of view) if needed.
3. find next model.
*as you go for a few round, u will get the hang of it. try to time your round. u wont want your model shot looking hungry and tired. Best time will be after their lunch or dinner, or after they refreshed themselves.

Pasca-Event
1. post processing.
2. remember to send the model the pictures.
3. Don't forget to post in LYN pc fairs chick thread!!
* will post pic, very soon!

Thank you very much for reading.

and feel free to add more pointers.

viking comments are very useful and helpful too. thanks viking!!
It is a plus point if u have large screen dslr to show the model what shot u 've taken.

p/s: for this field trip, i use canon 550d with 50mm 1.8 II prime lens only. Setting is shutter priority (Tv mode) set at 1/200, picture style : portrait, with max iso to 3200.

i have some pointers in my mind that i like to share.
all are hypothetically functional.

Pre-Event
1. recharge your batteries. No, you don't recharge. It is the EXTRA and MORE batteries that you need biggrin.gif
2. check your gears, bring good portraiture lens e.g. 50mm 1.8 No, you gonna need a REAL GOOD one like f1.4 or f1.2. Not only lens, body, flashgun, diffusers too
3. bring along your battery charger, or extra batteries. No, don't carry unnecessary stuff that will only make you tired faster. Charging your batts in PCFair is a joke.
4. bring a model posing guidebook e.g. handy book from taiwan photographer Black Noodle. No, the models are there to pose for a few seconds, you certainly don't want to give them a hard time by making it like your 'own private shooting'. Just shoot a few and take cover!

Event
1. dress nicely. No, I would say dress appropriately as you like. I've been shooting for years with my striking red flowery shorts and tee shirts and nobody gives a damn about it.
2. show your camera to the model u intended to shoot. No, they'll think that you are crazy if you show them your gears. Instead, show them their pictures that you snapped.
3. say "hi". No, say 'May I' with a good eye contact and positive body language(No pervert look).
4. fire away. No, fire when they are ready. Nobody likes pictures with half eye closed or funny expression.
5. suggest some decent posing idea by showing the model the posing guidebook. No, showing them a book will only tell them you are unprepared or newbie. Remember a few nice poses, ask them to pose a few of theirs on their own as they are at their best when they are comfortable with themselves. Suggest some poses should you think their poses weren't that appealing.
6. if u tag along other photokaki, i might suggest one of u to use the reflector. No, trust me, nobody will do that. It's hilarious.
7. ask "would u like me to send the photos to u?" No, politely ask them, May I have your email so that I can send the photos to you. It works most of the time rather than the 50-50 you want your pics to be sent to you ar?
8. contact time if the model say "yes". No, prevent any lengthy conversation so that you can hunt for more target, they got to do their stuff so just get FB/Email/MSN and take cover!

Pasca-Event
3. Don't forget to post in LYN pc fairs chick thread!! No, only post your best. Don't upload everything.
Here's a more practical phixxed version smile.gif

Carrying lenses with big fat 'opening' would be more precise instead of gigantic whitey telephotos unless you wanna be the 'model' there tongue.gif

Also, if you guys are going there to snap snap snap. Always keep in mind, they are the brand ambassadors. Not PC Fair Chicks like what this thread's title labeled them as. Treat them with respect and you will get your shots. Treat them without respect and you'll get your slaps.smile.gif

p/s: No abang sepang skill.

i have some pointers in my mind that i like to share.
all are hypothetically functional.

Pre-Event
1. recharge your batteries. - yeah, recharge both cam batteries n ur body, so night time dont do extra activity ya whistling.gif
2. check your gears, bring good portraiture lens e.g. 50mm 1.8 - I would rather advise bring a good flash gun for indoor events. But there a old tip saying bigger is better. U know what i mean brows.gif
3. bring along your battery charger, or extra batteries -  lao, i think u may shoot up to 100 at max, no need to burst 100 per model doh.gif
4. bring a model posing guidebook e.g. handy book from taiwan photographer Black Noodle  i think most models there know how to pose.  rolleyes.gif

Event
1. dress nicely. -  u want me to dress with my tuxedo? Or suits up? sweat.gif
2. show your camera to the model u intended to shoot. hi, u see i using Canon EOS-1 Mk4 with 1million MP camera with 18-200 F2.8 lens, best in the world. U think they care? doh.gif
3. say "hi" - Then drool n say can i have ur num?  notworthy.gif
4. fire away.  - AK47?
5. suggest some decent posing idea by showing the model the posing guidebook. Trust me, u dont have time for that n the massive crowd will prevent u. Occupying their time will annoy their supervisors!
6. if u tag along other photokaki, i might suggest one of u to use the reflector. as above. Like viking says, this will unlikely to happen. Ppl will stare at u thinking WTF u doing instead.....
7. ask "would u like me to send the photos to u?" - Ok that manners smile.gif
8. contact time if the model say "yes". What if the model says "F**k off? "

Post-Event
1. review pictures. -
2. change camera setting or perspective (point of view) if needed.
3. find next model.
I dont get it buddy, ur post event is after pc fair or after shooting one girl?

Pasca-Event
1. post processing.
2. remember to send the model the pictures.
3. Don't forget to post in LYN pc fairs chick thread!!
Why not u just add them in FB (provided they approve ur add) and tag them instead? But by the time u add the girls, u will be heart broken coz most of them stated they r in a relationship. U will see their happy pics hugging kissing with their beloved bfs. That just harsh reality mate wink.gif
Thank you very much for reading.

and feel free to add more pointers.
*
My feedback as above. Sorry to be skeptical but i found ur post very amusing. sweat.gif

n i think u forget the platinum rule of all. Saying thank you after taking their pic. sigh...........

Big lenses doesn't help. Lenses with big 'opening' will do the job smile.gif

the idea of big black/white lens is let the model look at you tongue.gif

imagine 2 guys, 1 using the 70-200 f4 L (small opening), another using the sigmalux (bigger opening)

i think the chick will look at the big white stick more biggrin.gif

The main intention of going there is to get some nice shots. Not grabbing people's attention. Bringing 70-200 will only make one look silly as you will end up with very minimal usable shots as the hall will be very the damn packed. You'll need wide lenses with big opening. smile.gif
