you can just use steam backup funtion and break the file into cd size 640mb

go to steam file menu > backup and restore games > choose total war > select destination of the file backup to > choose cd size 640mb

then after backing up the file  you can copy Disk_1, Disk_2 etc folder into your external hdd until 5gb

after that put all the Disk_1 Disk_2 folder into single folder name "Total War" and open Disk_1 folder and run the steambackup.exe from your pc
*
Use this.

I have been doing so for almost all my games on Steam.

oh, rmvb player can only read FAT32 and not NTFS oh?
then you can spend RM100 to buy a new 16GB thumb drive then.

thumb drive can be re-formatted into NTFS mah.

If it's that 5Gb limit thinggy:

Use a small free tool to break that 5Gb file into smaller pieces.

Copy to USB disk

Copy to destination PC

Use the "merge" function of above free tool

I have no idea on a name of such a tool right now but you can easily find one on google, there are heaps of free ones

Worst come to Worst use winrar and ask him to split it into archive of X size  smile.gif
*
QUOTE(Deimos Tel`Arin @ May 24 2010, 02:18 PM)
can try 7-zip for the above purpose.
*

I'm using Singapore/Japan as my region. For my XboxLive I had to put it on Singapore to use their Marketplace. While my MSN is Japan region and that account is associated with my GFWL.

It's not steam. It's Games for Windows Live. It's an additional service you'd have to sign up for.

Region shouldn't be a problem. What do you mean by "Code"?

Calm down first. XD

Alrights, here's what you need to do. Go to http://home.live.com/

Sign in with your Windows Live account.
Top right where the mini avatar icon is. Click on the scroll down list.
Look for VIEW ACCOUNT.
Right under your information. Click REGISTERED INFORMATION
Voila, you have reached the page where you can change your Windows Live account region. biggrin.gif

I'm not entirely sure if this will unblock your account, but it's worth a try!

Pretty much GG,to be honest.

It will never login with the region set as Malaysia.

Thats why GFWL is such a pain to use.

My GFWL, Xbox account region is set to US, yet I have no idea when I change the region to US. Luckily it's set to US, I'm able to play the dirt 2's multiplayer.

GG and unlucky for those who set the region to unsupported region. The link shows which Countries/Regions with LIVE Service supported.

http://www.xbox.com/en-us/live/countries.htm

GFWL is tied to Xbox LIVE account and the region in the Xbox LIVE account will be set based on the region set in your Email account during registration. Once the region is registered, it can't be changed. shakehead.gif The link will show which region is registered to your Xbox LIVE account.

You need to create a GFWL ID with any region as shown in http://www.xbox.com/en-us/live/countries.htm to be able to play multiplayer/online.

Erm, look at my steps? I can change my Windows Live region, which is linked to both my Xbox Live and GFWL region. Freely to whatever region I so choose.

I don't know how they handle XboxLive/GFWL, but if no one tried it, how we'd know?

Edit: Also, if region change is not allowed. Then I move out of my region = No more games for me? M$oft likes money, but I don't think for a second that they're stupid.

That key is pretty much gone,as it's tied to the wrong region.

Sorry to say this.

This is the problem with SSA(Server Side Authentication) in GFWL.

Once you set the wrong region, you pretty much have bought a pirated game.

Last I remember, CDKey authentication is still done on the developers' end. Recall Trogdor1oh1's experience with GFWL. Same Gears of War 1 key, multiple games including Fallout 3 and SFIV.

As long as you don't go online with 2 copies of the game with the same CDKeys, I don't think you'll have trouble.

There are 2 types of GFWL DRM, SSA and non-SSA. SSA DRM is like Steam, that your keys are tied to an account, while non SSA have limited activations that cannot be redeemed back.

Say if you put UK when you registered initially, and you move back to Malaysia, any SSA games are as good as gone,as you need UK IP to play the game. GFWL will refuse to login if you try to login from anywhere but UK.

This happen to me with DoW2 Beta and i took 1 day just to fix this. That is also why my GFWL account's name is Cheesenium2, as Cheesenium is tied to Australia only.

To prevent this from happening, you need to set your region as US when you first register at XBox Live where it grants you region free. My Cheesenium2 account logs in regardless of which country am i in.

Dont you see why i hate GFWL so much? I dont mind if they actually gave a warning for this so that you dont tie the key to the wrong account. The fact is,there arent any. Dont forget about the no-one-knows-how-many-activations DRM that GFWL enforce on non-SSA games like DoW2 and most games before late 2009.
