eve online is one of the best space MMO, you don't even need to logon to level your skills hehe the catch is "time sink". Can exchange in game cash for monthly, if you make enough that is.

Too many to list but if you like space age battles and mechanics go for it. I played like 2 years ago, stopped after i couldn't cope of being online too much for mission running/mining and such heh. And drain brain juice too.

nothing interesting on sale today...  :|  but amazing price for EVE players to top up their account....
*
Doubt you can use the free 30 days on existing account. Unless you want multi accounts heh. Even then, its a pain to raise skill lvls all over again. If i remember correctly you need at least what 2 weeks to get a decent char with enough tech to fly decent ships to mine/transport/mission runner.

i already deleted and reinstalled steam like 11 times.. yes, i kept count.
*
I had your prob as well. My way was rather unconventional. I did all the trick as well... and even uninstall/install multi times. *backup steamapps*

Here's what i did.

Clear all the said files by forums all over, *.Blob/SteamUI.dll AND *.mdmp . For me it seems the *.mdmp files were giving issues, it tells steam something broke and read the dump files. Even after you tried restarting and failed... make sure *.mdmp gets deleted.

Before starting steam.. go to services and find steam service. I'm using win 7 ult 32bit. When you clicked on steam. prepare to force start steam service. Click steam and force start the service like your life depends on it *ignore when it says service ended* biggrin.gif.

Maybe around 5 times lol. and keep on looking at the update.. it should kick in updating for the first round..look at your steam folder something will be downloaded, make sure to let it run. after that, start steam again and do the start service again *make sure steam ended in your task manager/processes before redoing- remember to delete *.mdmp as well *.. it should update the 2nd time.

Walah! that's how i get it to work lol.... pretty drastic.. but it worked and just in time to download my games hehe.

Thinking hard whether to get Civilization 4 pack or not. for 10USD, its almost a crime not to get it. But Civ 5 is near sad.gif

Might probably bite it later. really love Civ games
*
You already said you love the series.. buy it and get your collection. When civ 5 comes and broke.. wait for sales. At the mean time, enjoy your complete collection of Civ 4. I'm sure you'd get more sales to fill in your time slot before civ 5 sales comes again. That's how i'm treating my games now smile.gif

Some games still can get the keys. As long you have that, even steam "chap lap" still legit.

yup otherwise it's just get stuck at steam is updating like forever lol. Quite piss of at it at the time cause I wanted to play ME2 haha.
*
if you're not intending to download any games any time soon, just set it to offline mode. You can still buy games and worry about installing them when all quiet down.

I'm not sure about Settlers. Never really touch or into it.
I still prefer those Anno series games as it invovles generally everything. Trading, Diplomacy, War, Harvesting and so on. tongue.gif

The only bad thing I learn from playing Anno games, you'll eventually forget the time that had passed. Last time I play from 6pm to 3am... doh.gif
*
Yeah Anno series are pretty engaging... but the war side seems a bit too meh to me. But then again, i'd go HoI 3 for my war fixes... ehhehe come to think of it. HoI 3 is pretty good if you don't mind no cutsy animation and such. I'm kinda burn out with previous Civ/Anno/East India Company series kinda game.

Nope, it hasnt been on the daily sale yet though i think the chances are slim. It's already got 75% off, pretty good deal there already. It's a fun game, somewhat similar to the HoMM series. U get certain weird(in a good way) quests and marry wives to get certain benefits  tongue.gif.
Gets repetitive at the end though.
*
Yeah thought so too. Urg, getting the urge to get Disciple II Gold pack too. Sigh..these turn-based oldies are getting to me.

Yeah well.. unless you want to wait another 3 months for halloween. By that time you saved your $4 and lost 3 months worth game time biggrin.gif
