Anyway those who wanna hack Ridger TM router , it can do QoS and you can even block p2p , do shaping - but but but its all done in command line. So basically you gotta pick up the manual and read. I'll write a guide later

1. Download PuTtty (just google for it and download)

2. Type 192.168.1.1 and select telnet

3. then type tmadmin/tmadmin for user/pass

4. Welcome to the system. You're able to edit some additional settings. If you know how to configure iptables , simply type sh


5. Some cool tricks , once you have typed sh. Type cat /proc/cpuinfo. You'll notice it uses a broadcom chipset which is similar to a linksys WRT54GL series. I'll see if i can able to slice a firmware together so that we can unlock a lot of great stuff with this router. For now , this is something for you to "play play with"

Those who with combo , aka same case like me. Forget it , they are not going to process it. How can you do ? - Complain to MCMC , send e-mail to TM - be polite and insist that you demand a tech to come to your place to activate. The package gets activated once tech comes , basically I called up 100 couple of times - made report , report report and asked them to forward it asap and report to me. You gotta push them on this.

Gone with those days whereby you can get 218.111 IP and other freebies. Now 4Mbps users cant get those stuff anymore. Sorry to say , a lot of people took advantage and tm has decided to shut this loop hole down. They don't buy your excuses anymore !

You could try , but let me tell you this

You can't request for 218.111 ip , they have run of it anyway. You should know the reason , I guess there is not enough ips to fill all the 4Mbps users. The demand for 4Mbps is a lot

What you can do is you can try to request to be capped at 5Mbps , so you can get full 4Mbps. This one you could do and shouldn't be a problem. Requesting 218 ip is out of the question (aka so-called premium ip which offers best connectivity to China , US , etc). Well thank the number of users , even I was kicked out of the range as well after upgrading from this package. If I knew this , I would have retained my Combo for RM 160 just to get this IP.

Connectivity to 218 sucks when it comes to Singapore , Thailand , Taiwan but elsewhere its smooth sailing

Call HP this friday. Their number can be obtained from HP Malaysia. Just call their sales , currently you gotta wait for now.

Monash for instance wasn't in the list but it was possible to apply. It depends on your IPTS and up to TMPoint. Some TMPoint will allow. I've brought all the documents and bam it wasn't a problem at all !

Sorry not going to do. The reason why is that I <3 being slow. Yes it took them some time , all you have to do is sit back , talk and let htem get the job. If you keep on screwing them 100% , most likely your line will be messed up at times.
But if you praise after screwing them up politely , they dont mind. This is what I recommend. Generally I praise their staff , you can't blame them. Sometimes their systems are too slow , downtime and best of all they have 10001 systems which needs to be updated

I dont recommend people to mess with TM , unless its your last resort. Generally e-mail and wait, if that fails , then bring MCMC in to help you out. Please remain polite and please be formal as possible. WRITING a letter like 'ZOMG , I AM FED UP WITH YOUR SERVICES' may make things even worse. Instead write ' I'm deeply sadden by services provided by TM'. Be polite always , and make sure you have the upper hand. Despite sending e-mails and calling them , then you can start bringing in MCMC and others.This is my tip and yes it has worked !

I'll post up some sample letters later. Look lah , I told to TM , their staffs are okay. I know they are limited by their lousy system. It takes 24-48 hours for them to update their system. Sometimes its like that , some staffs are good and some are bad ones. Well it all boils down to you , the problem with them is that they dont have a centralised system

There is nothing wrong with kind , even I was kind. Well sometimes putting these guys in your pocket will be handy. You gotta tackle this way. Most of you guys are young , that explains why you're raging. Think wisely , if you have his number and something goes wrong with your phone line , you know who to call as calling 100 is pointless. Their system takes forever to update and forever to assign a tech. A lot of people complain , basically if its written RM 30 and you pay RM 40 extra and have his number , ummm he can help you with phone line related problems. Same goes with your streamyx tech guy. Put him in your pocket and if you have issues with your port , just give him a call and get it done

Umm , well I guess I am old then. I am not sure I am just guessing from demographics , some of the folks have just entered Uni. I am guessing its 18. Of course there are old folks like myself , mid 20s , well can't really say mid nor early 20s.


silrave , umm you just gotta wait. After phone line installation , it will take few more days for TM to process

Anyone knows how to make sure hp ships the netbook. Currently its written planned on the 20th but then its not actually shipped.

Sometimes confusion can occur which can cause this problem. You better deal with TMPoint. You should stick to one

Premium IP and capping at 5Mbps ? Well gone with those days hereby it used to be easier to do it. Now days it seems to be pretty hard to do it.
