I'd like to quote Kobe on this...not signing Kewell was a blessing in disguise for Arsenal

QUOTE(verx @ Apr 8 2010, 09:15 PM) Should not have signed: This post has been edited by sprix: Apr 9 2010, 03:31 PM1) Gravesen (lol) 2) Faubert (even bigger lol) 3) Emerson 4) Beckham (50-50 on this) 5) Pablo Garcia 6) Huntelaar 7) Fat Ronaldo (this will split opinions I'm sure) - I think he help us alot, quite number of goals plus magical performance against man utd. 8) heinze Should have signed: 1) Iniesta (before he joined Barca's youth team; he was an Albacete and Madrid fan...sigh) 2) Silva (we didn't sign him to our youth ranks because we deemed him too lightweight) 3) RVN (wished we signed him when he was younger; what a player) 4) Vieira (as replacement for Makelele) 5) Alonso (should signed him earlier) Shouldn't have sold: 1) Cambiasso 2) Eto'o (should have given him more chances in the 1st team) 3) Hierro (released from his contract too early) 4) Robben 5) Matta (should give him more chance) 6) Helguera? i dono whether time was suitable when we released him years back, but i admit he is too slooowwww Shouldn't have sacked: 1) vincente del bosque |

United should have tried harder to sign Shearer when he was available back then. Classic centre forward, equally great with feet & head.

QUOTE(Quick` @ Apr 9 2010, 01:21 PM) for Arsenal That's utter rubbish. It's just a case of Wenger having sour grapes. I can't believe there are nut heads believing that Wenger was first to discover Cristiano's talent. If he really did, then why didn't he mention it when he signed for Man Utd, and complaining about it years later.definitely we miss out on C.Ronaldo the other person i really feel sad we did not signed is Harry Kewell, i really like that guy, personally felt he would do good for us just to bad i guess. Man Utd fan here. 1. Failed to cough up a few more bucks to sign Robben, and he ended up warming the bench and sold off. 2. Failed to sign Torres before the Pool stole him right out of our hands. Should have signed him right away when he declared that he will be honoured to play for a club like Man Utd. 3. Why on earth Kleberson, and Djemba-Djemba? I would also like to list down Chelsea's flops. 1. Arjen Robben 2. Mateja Kezman 3. Asier Del Horno 4. Shaun Wright-Phillips 5. Andriy Shevchenko 6. Scott Parker 7. Glen Johnson 8. Khalid Boulahrouz 9. Paulo Ferreira 10. Hernan Crespo 11. Jiri Jarosik 12. Adrian Mutu 13. Juan Sebastian Veron 14. Geremi 15. Damien Duff 'nuff said. |

Well, I m not so sure since he was the one ending the speculation himself when he was linked to ManU by declaring that he is staying in Spain for another season.Man Utd fan here. 1. Well he did, so what's wrong with saying that. Arsene merely mentioned that C.Ronaldo was previously invited to Arsenal's training ground before he joined MU, he never said he was the one that 'discovered' Ronaldo in Portugal. Whether who discovered Ronaldo isn't important, he eventually joined MU so why get angry? Chill, mate. |

Robben - injury prone, but great when he fit..injury prone even in Madrid and now Bayern... Kezman - inconsistent, yet Chelsea gain profit by selling him... Del Horno - played 25 times and score one..then transfer to Valencia..play 15..scored none... Shaun Wright-Phillips - yap he cant make it to the regular 1st team... Sheva - yap the worst buy...happy?? Scott Parker - Claude Makélélé and Frank Lampard...he need to be better than both of them... Glen Johnson - Paulo Ferreira and Geremi was better than hom because both of them can play various position... Khalid Boulahrouz - this one...flop.. Paulo Ferreira - he still with Chelsea now...and he just fall through rank that is all...and he perform when Chelsea need him... Hernan Crespo - at 1st surplus to the team, then partner to Drogba...he won his first league title victory in European football with Chelsea. Jiri Jarosik -just a transition player before Chelsea sign Essien..a part of the plan lh.. Adrian Mutu - 7 month ban, stupid or what Chelsea want to keep him...but he is a great player... Juan Sebastian Veron -We both flop together hahahh " Alex Ferguson in support of Veron: "...On you go. I'm not f***ing talking to you. He's a f***ing great player. You are all f***ing idiots.". However, fans and pundits alike agreed that the signing was an expensive flop" Geremi - 2003–2007 Chelsea 72(4) the most appearances compared to all him former club...still a flop ka?? Damien Duff -One of the Godly Winger...for Chesea fans...another one...yeah you listed him also..Robben... Your teams greatest regrets...the title given..so you a Chelsea fan ka??? Stop talking about other...MU have unimaginably long list of flops...so...better research it 1st before talk about Chelsea... Keep the Blue Flag Flying High! This is football..not charity home..you perform you stay...u did not..you must go...it just a part of the plan... |

i can see where this thread is going.
please la.be more matured and have some stats that can back you up before saying something here..yes,some of the chelsea players you stated were flops but duff and robben?excuse me?one of the reason i used to watch chelsea's goals were fast counter attack by duff-gudjohnsen-robben or sometimes duff-gudjohnsen-joe cole. and like others have said,it's not about who spotted ronaldo first.it's about who signed him.wenger was disappointed because arsenal couldn't match sporting lisbon's price while man utd can. Come on guys, we don't need higher powers to flex their muscles here but we sure aren't helping ourselves by acting so immaturely.
