seriously, who cares about it being AMOLED or IPS or whatever the hell? does it look good in person? is there a appreciable difference?

I keep hearing that AMOLED is not practical to use in bright sunlight, so I will not purchase one without testing... especially since we have very nice bright sunlight here in Malaysia smile.gif

AMOLED do suffers in bright light. But Super AMOLED has been confirmed to have none.

you got any non-Samsung people to verify that? smile.gif
@aleluya
same question smile.gif

I mean... the product hasn't launched yet... and it'll be available by end of this month.

Don't forget, we are all wasting our time comparing with the other companies, because Steve doesn't care about the others. He's got a vision, and if you disagree, go ahead and buy whatever else you like.
if you disagree with the market leader... who is selling millions of devices... how?

This will be really OT but hopefully the mod will pass this one. A short test by a Dutch publication.

Samsung Wave shows what's Super about its AMOLED display by going outdoors (video)

Direct sunlight -- is there anything more terrifying for an OLED screen? Up until now, you had to sacrifice some outdoor performance from your phone's display in order to get the spectacular contrast and viewing angles on offer from OLEDs. Up until now. Samsung's Wave has been taken for a quick spin by Dutch publication portablegear and while we've no idea what their feedback on the phone was, the moving pictures speak for themselves. The phone remains entirely readable and usable in spite of the bright environment around it -- if you question how much light is hitting it, just take a look at the hand of the person holding it -- and color saturation is maintained throughout. Samsung promised us a great media experience on the handset, but this quick demo places its Super AMOLED tech a clear step above... well, every other display out there. The wildly impressive video awaits after the break, and you can find more imagery and our hands-on impressions here.

Feel free to hit the link to see the video in action.

Well, I'm not a supporter of any specific manufacturer and will not forever stay on with apple but in fact I'm a proponent of the latest technology.

As you can see, I'm having two totally different phones right now, which is Omnia (Windows Phone) and 3Gs. iPhone 4 is tempting indeed especially it's the highest res phone screen in the market currently and already looking forward to it.

As a matter of fact I'm hoping of WP7 comes with a great phone as well either HTC or Samsung with S-AMOLED. Android also in my mind.

Hopefully I'll be holding 3 different OSes phone in the future.

@mmmbop,
Y is there a need to hold so many mobile sets, seriously?
*
Err..nothing to do with having so many mistresses if that is on your mind laugh.gif

I don't know, a geek, a tech nerd maybe? I just love all the different type of OSes as they present a totally different features from one to another.

For example Omnia can play Divx movies straight from the box without any conversion to MP4 whatsoever.

Android in the form of EVO 4G can acted as wifi router to other devices.

Nokia's upcoming N8 can plug-in pendrive etc straight to the phone.

Not to mention the different hardwares and UI like HTC Sense etc.

I better stop here as this has been to astray from the topic.

Come on 21st June. iOS4! I can't wait the folder features! Too many games to put on the springboard.

Have use ebay before? Not all is fake. Choose those powersellers. Look at the rating, the customer's review. Lastly, make sure payment is via PayPal. Money back guaranteed by ebay if product is not as stated.

If some of you wish to spare the cash, and a bit on the adventure side, grab a scissor and knife, trim it DIY. Google willing to help.

And if someone wish to make bucks of money, get one of this

Updated with 4.0 just now. Took about 30 min to dl/install etc thru itunes. Probably network has been eased up after you guys already dled it. Really respect those that stayed up to get it.

Btw, probably it's me that feels some lagginess. I bet due to the fact I'm left with only 650MB left out of 32GB. If you ask me why, I have 35 movies on it..will try to let go some of the non use app.

Found a bug:

In my campus, the wifi needs to be logged in with password etc. Previously on iOS3.0 a pop-up window will come out stating that the network is not trusted but it will continue to connect anyway.

But now, it will crash upon connecting. Since someone else said that wifi works ok, I guess only those untrusted wifi networks will get the boot

The cellular data is On..but the problem is i dont have MMS option in network there. Can someone help?

I'm not sure with this, but mine is without any MMS option in the setting as well. But if I try to send MMS from Photos it's seems there. Whether it'll work or not I'm not sure haven't send to anyone yet.

If it works then, it could be the MMS already built-in right away without the need to switch on from the setting.

Don't have an iPad so no access to iBook previously. Now with 4.0, the pages flick is really outstanding

Btw, I realized that Books in the appstore and the one in iBook is different, am I right?

Is there anyway we can download iBook's book from iTunes on the PC rather from the app itself?

Well I'm on non JB phone previously. There's no ability to multitask and even close the app to save memory. It still doesn't affect much on the phone.

With the new multitask function, it's basically an option. Either you wish to close it or not up to you. So, I guess it's not even considered a hassle at all. It's just an option.

Though i would agree it would be better if there's "one-click-close-all" function

Btw, I realized another new in 4.0, if the phone is connected to PC's iTunes, whenever you change the apps on either the PC or iPhone(delete, shift to other springboard etc), the other one will change straight away as well WITHOUT even the need of syncing.

Previously, only by syncing, all apps will be organized as you have done

I realized two functions of iOS4 are not in my phone after updating:

1. Gamecenter - supposedly this one is part of iOS4 (I guess they are still fine tuning it)
2. For Photo - I have only album and places tab. the places tab kinda cool. but what happen to the other two tabs: faces & events?
