I'm throwing my towel on this one too. 6 points adrift is too much to bear. What are the chances of Chelsea losing TWO times and draw ONE time? Even if it does come true and Arsenal wins the league, its no hiding the embarrassment of winning it that way.
From last nite match, it seems Spurs has passion more than us. Its ashame really. It doesn't help with the crowd deafening support for their team. I really wish it was our fan who was cheering their lungs off. Our team totally blew the chance. Fighting spirit? That was only after RVP was introduced into the fray and we were merely chasing light.
For those who didn't watch the match last nite, let me pinpoint our weakness last nite:
in general --> DEFENCE in specific --> CENTRE BACK in particular --> SILVESTRE

QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Apr 15 2010, 12:26 PM) I must be getting old now... the older, more mature fans that we had in the past are posting less and less while many newcomers are acting like kids whenever results don't go our way. I can't help but share the sentiment voiced by Duke Red in another thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1384411/+220#You're not alone in this. Countless times I've seen knee jerk comments after every game we play. I can't help to feel that even though its frustrating to not win a cup this year, or the year before, or 4 years before that, what is important is the progress we're doing. Someone posted an article about Barcelona not winning anything in 6 years. So why are we any different with the other teams? Its just plain stupid to keep blaming the gaffer throughout the season from one or two defeats. Its not just blind faith we're putting on our manager because he has lifted this team countless times over the years and turned a football team into a self-sustaining business model. So now we judge a manager from his cup achievement....isn't that just being ignorant? I like what Arsene has done to the team. I like what our financial status is going. I like that our loyalty sticks with the board and the players. In turn, the cup will arrive soon. I think the roman effect is starting to get on us.

QUOTE(Nemesis13 @ Apr 15 2010, 03:31 PM) Haha.. One result makes us quarreling among ourselves. To be able to finish 3rd in the league, Quarter final in CL, with a squad full of youths, I don't think there exist any other club that could match Arsenal's reputation under Wenger. This shows how much potential this club has, and this team will grow even stronger in 2-3 seasons to come. I think most clubs envy us as we don't use financial strength to build up the team - Chelsea, Real Madrid, Man City. We build the squad through talent, passion for football, and the trust and mentality of each player has towards the manager and the club. We stick to our principal, and this what makes us special. Star player doesn't change the result, Its the believe and mentality of the player which does. A club does well when the fans are behind their back no matter how bad period we have. Maybe Arsenal should shift to the Spanish league.
