my saga blm after changed to Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 Fully Synthethic Motor Oil, car more noisy and no power.

weird thing is my car is smooth only after 100km/h, below it, the engine is like suffering, anyone know why? is this normal?

I bought this oil from tesco, Rm 138 not sure is original or not. Previously i was using eneos semi, it was very good overall.

Underpowered cars should never use Shell Helix engine oils. Even 1.8 and 2.0 liter engines complain of the same symptoms you have as Shell oils have always been known to be rather 'thick'. Nothing more you can do but just to make sure that you don't use Shell again on your next oil change.

i see, but will it spoil my car engine? or i need to change to semi now? it just ran for 1 k only.

Btw, how you do define underpower ?

I've the same very problem. Every time after service car with Shell Helix oil, car engine gets lauder and sluggish. I can confirm there was a change when EON service center used Petronas Primax oil when i serviced. (that was at my home town). I recently serviced my car again at Proton Edar service center (the usual place i service my car and they use Shell Helix) and i can tell you the different was obvious. I feel car was much more smoother when used Primax.

After when you feel like not going back to proton service center, try eneos oil around Rm 95, it was much better than primax. Save fuel somemore. I'll continue using that oil in the future.

Shame on SHELL on saga blm (On other cars not sure tongue.gif)

Fully synthetic RM138  shocking.gif

Not rm180 ++ ?

Normally
Mineral = 60 to 70
Semi = 90 to 100
Fully = 180 to 190

Yeah, i have same perception as yours. That's so happen normally they selling it at around 180 and suddenly drop to 138 then only i buy.

I think new model is coming to replace this.

There are somebody selling here at RM 130, same thing.

Which Petronas Primax are you comparing the ENEOS oil with? You are not generalising ALL the primax oils, are you? Primax Mach 5, Syntium 800, 1000, 3000 or 5000? Which one are you comparing?

The Shell Helix Ultra is entry level fully synthetic from Shell. They have a few more grades higher and those will fall into your standard high level fully synthetic price range.

I'm comparing with the semi synthetic oil the proton HQ service center provide (Don't ask me what grade, i've forgotten and those who normally service there will know). The price is about RM 99
