Hi, I am currently doing my Bachelor of Dental Surgery course in AIMST University. I am still in 1st year. The thing is, I am not from a really rich family and my parents can just barely squeeze enough money to get me into this course. And up till now I cannot forgive myself for not seriously studying in my SPM and get a JPA scholarship(which is the only scholarship I had heard of) which would surely alleviate the huge burden on my family. However, a few months ago, I heard from people that we can actually apply for scholarships using our 1st year results but when I asked them, they said they heard from people as well. I went and search on the net but all that was futile(they look too confusing, and most requirements are for SPM leavers). Thus, this is my last resort, posting in this forum to enquire if anyone knows of any scholarships which we can apply using undergraduate 1st year result. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance This post has been edited by persona23: May 17 2013, 10:54 PM

Wondering, I am planning to take MBA, to further enhance my knowledge and chances to move up the ladder.
Question is, am I eligible to apply for PTPTN for funding ?

QUOTE(wilson kok @ Jun 7 2013, 12:30 AM) hi, can i know a level students stand a higher chance of getting scholarship or stpm students? Which one will be getting more offers? assume that both also get excellent result.. I reckon it's all up to the capabilities+achievements+co-curricular experience that the particular students posses. By the way, I guess there are no such incident where students got picked for scholarship/bursary based on the type of pre-university examination that they did. In terms of wider coverage of syllabus,STPM is famed for it. As for A-levels,it is widely known for it's deeper depth of syllabus. Hence, both of them are roughly on par with each other. But, if that scholarship is specifically granted by public institution, then the chances of the ex-STPM students to acquire it is considerably higher than those A-level students.
