Presentation and essay writing are the norms in scholarship interview. That's why it takes the whole day.

All scholarship applicants should prepare for the interview by being ready to 1) answer key questions clearly (practice with mock interview!), 2) write an essay (practice by writing an essay on why you should be given the scholarship or on a current issue), 3) do a mock presentation (practice a short speech - to gauge your communication skills). It's worth spending time preparing before you go for the interview. Lots of good candidates all vying for a limited number of scholarships. |

For the presentation, I think what they're gonna do is giving you a problem and you'll have to brainstorm yourself (or in a group) then present it to everyone.Make sure: 1. Dress formally 2. Be confident and polite, even if you have to act it out 3. Smile!!!!~ 4. Be proactive, because the interviewers are looking for these. (i.e. during group discussion trying to voice out more often. Let people know that you're contributing ideas). Good luck. QUOTE(R_if @ Apr 1 2012, 08:01 PM) hey guys i need some help regarding the astro scholarship. Most of the time no, but you'll have check with them to be safe. I don't think they'll be sponsoring for both your Pre-U and undergrads. You'll have to apply separately.can a SPM leaver apply for their bachelor degree scholarship (like what JPA used to do); or can i apply for diploma and pre-u only?...not sure what to write in the 'what course are you interested to pursue' option. |

Hi guys, does anyone know about the procedure for applying for PTPTN loans for Masters? Is there a conversion to a scholarship if you have a First Class Honours Masters?

Is there a conversion to a scholarship if you have a First Class Honours Masters? I believe the conversion of loans to scholarship under the PTPTN has been abolished. But the debate is ongoing. Check out: http://www.thesundaily.my/news/325880. You can also browse http://www.malaysia-education.com/financial-aid.html for info about scholarships, financial aid with links to application forms and procedures. Good luck |

Hi,
I recently got my offer letter to do my Masters in IT overseas in a university in Melbourne.. However for me to accept their offer I need to pay the 1st semester fees as well as insurance which comes close to RM30k... In total the tuition fees for the two year course comes up to RM110k (give and take exchange rate at RM3 = AUD 1) Is there any loan offers that I can take up for the amount (not including my other expenses there as I am planning to work part-time which should be able to cover my accommodation, food, transport and so on.) I checked with banks (Maybank, Public, CIMB and RHB) - all of them had very high interest rates - 7% and above... Bank Rakyat offers 4.95% with 20 years repayment but the problem with them is that I have to start paying back immediately once I take the loan.. I am looking for a loan offer where I only need to pay back after I complete my studies (similar to PTPTN - PTPTN don't offer for overseas education as well as the max amount you can get from them is about RM65k if I am not mistaken). The intake is at the end of July. Do let me know if anyone has any ideas.......... Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(100cw @ Apr 15 2012, 10:39 PM) May consider Maxis Scholarship (http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/about_us/scholarship/postgraduate/aboutscholarship.asp) Postgraduate scholarships for local universities are typically given by the institution concerned. Many Malaysian universities offer PG scholarships to build their PG schools. You can check http://www.malaysia-education.com/financial-aid.html for a list of scholarships. There is usually a bit of tutoring / lab assistant work involved in these Postgraduate scholarships. It is available all the time, however the website currently is under maintenance, you may obtain the application form by e-mail the secretarial. |

Maximum allowed ? b. number of years for repayment ? c. interest rate on the loan ? d. maximum income for parents to be eligible to get the loan ? e. any bond to work for company X for y years after finishing the course ? f. loan is only for the course fee or is living expenses included ?
