Some shows make it to FTA over here, true. But local FTA has no respect for the content and only care about advertisements. I've seen shows that when they show commercial, they dun pause the show tape, so when come back from commercial or from solat, there's tons of missing scenes. And a particular channel has the worst case of trigger-happy censorship I've ever seen- since when are cartoon pigs not allowed to be shown on TV? In one nasty case, just a pig mask in a cartoon also cut. Yes, a toy that looks like a part of a pig in a cartoon! That also want to cut!
They didn't chicken out, they just failed due to their selfish reasons. Who will pay RM600 for a decoder and RM80 monthly for two only dozen channels at the time where Astro is practically giving the decoders away free?

And at that time Astro still semi-decent.

Using a VPN: I've never achieved a speed that videos will just play naturally when viewing content through VPN. Plus, Hulu and many other providers are wising up and blocking VPN now.

I tend to agree with you TallJustin... i was astonished at how good the PQ is for streaming episodes of LOST on ABC.com  (but unfortunately if you try it from Malaysia, you get this :  You appear to be outside the United States or its territories. It appeared to be at least 720p,  maybe better, ...  and very little lag...  if an IPTV settop box downloads the whole episode or buffers a bit before it begins playing, it should work very well... so looks like the technology is there to do it without the expense of putting a satellite in orbit and maintaining it there...  Hope Astro tries to hold on to their subscriber base by providing lots of good content ..

Though some of you may not like repeats, I find it very useful particularly when there is no recording function available yet. What you guys may not know is that in the US, channels like Discovery have repeats a week or two later; but what's worse is that between 2-8AM (depending on channel), the program is filled with infomercials. I'd rather watch repeats than that.
