so far, is there any common problems faced by owners? such as lag while switching apps or turn on the camera, hang etc.... btw, on a normal usage, how do u rate the battery life? can last whole day?
mine lags quite abit. even when there's just one or two apps running it can lag.
thing is,it was kinda laggy since i first bought it.so i reckon a full format is in order
i see.... so, wut about the screen's response and sensitivity? i am contemplating btwn this phone or HTC desire.... the major difference btwn these phones are the screens... i think that capacitative screen is better in response and sensitivity compared to resistive screen. but wut abt ur opinion abt n900?

It depends, a lot of people want capacitive because it's sort of the trend, but capacitive is less accurate.
With the N900, you can use your fingernail to touch small links in websites (e.g. Facebook) without having to zoom in, or you can use stylus. You can play those Flash Games or games that requires accurate touch, especially Flash for Desktop which is so small on the N900 screen, it's almost impossible to touch with the fingers.
Capacitive screen is great for multi-touch, but I read that resistive also "supports" multi-touch, but not sure what it actually means.
Finally, check out the Sketch app on N900 below. Correct me if I'm wrong, you can't do that on capacitive screen. Look at the "accuracy", and you can even use fine pencil to draw/sketch, very cool!
Comment from YouTuber: A capacitive screen is very responsive, as it uses the electricity coming from your finger to recognise its position. This does have the disadvantage of not being able to use it with a stylus or gloves and it being less accurate. Advantage is that it is more responsive and that its more likely to support multi-touch. Resistive uses pressure points and is exactly the opposite of a capacitive screen.

Bro,
Your shot look great! Mine has really bad noise in low light or indoor shots, have set lowest ISO settings, adjust white balance, etc... The noise is bad, but yours look great!
I read that there is some known issue with some N900 cameras.... For AP users, will be trouble if we get this problem...

Can you share with us some pictures? In previous thread some of the AP users did share some pictures & it looked fine.
is there a setting where i can disable the autolock function? everytime i call someone, the phone screen go blank. then i have to unlock it again.
Are you sure it's autolock? It should not lock when you're calling or answering phone calls.
I still remember the first time I use it and the screen goes blank, then I keep press the side unlock trigger. Later I found out... it's the proximity sensors... It will turn off the screen when you cover the proximity sensors (e.g when you listen to the phone), this is to save power. When you move the phone away from your ear/head, the screen should comes back in a moment. You can try make a call, then cover the top part of the phone with your hand (where the proximity sensors is), the screen will go blank, then uncover it and the screen should comes back.
It shouldn't lock, because there're times you need to access the keypad (e.g. when calling voice operated options such as 1800 lines, where you need to press the numbers to proceed).

i think is the screen protector its giving me problem. sometimes when i was on handfree, the screen goes blank too. btw i put the phone on my lap
Use WinSCP, easy to use. (Window based) First, need to install ssh server in the N900.
For those not familiar, becareful because you get access to the system files and deleting the wrong file can mess up your N900.

Ooh, what screen protector are you using? Maybe we should avoid it, hehe
EDIT: I don't know if you're on handsfree, how's the scree react. When I use loudspeaker in the car, the screen stays lit; But I'm not sure, if it will lock, I think it shouldn't. I can't remember. Did your phone lock or just the screen goes blank?
My current screen protector is very thin, but very prone to fingerprints. I bought another from lowyat.net member, which is better quality; haven't plan to change yet.
Anybody have use good screen protector which is clear, yet not prone to fingerprints and also sunlight?

I ordered ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for mine. Some user said it's much better compared to other screen protector
it'll be difficult to glide your finger/stylus if u use IS as it's rubbery. however, the protection is good if u put aside difficulty in applying it and the orange peel effect that will be developed after a month's time Experience it n u'll know
Got question here before I am getting N900. Wanna try something different since my last Nokia N97 already sold off. Is the bluetooth connection is strong and good. I am always listening music paired IS 800i or Motorola S305 (damn nice one). Meanwhile I am using N1 and HD2 and music is damn nice one...no breaking in between...anyone wanna share with me. Thanks
