Frankly, this is the first time I've heard someone say it's underwhelming. Everyone else seems to say it's quite powerful for a handheld. And having seen the Capcom test screenshots of the two Resident Evil games as well as the MGS trailer, I think the 3DS is quite powerful.
In any case, I think it's TOO powerful. Too much power = more battery consumption |

pervert time,for us.
5 hours batteries is kinda okay for a day,i think. but is it when the 3D is on? does 3D effect the battery? or 5 hours is for 2D and 3D? |

If I'm not mistaken, 3D does indeed affect battery life. The 3DS has to process two separate images for each eye for the stereoscopic effect, although with some games (DoA iirc) if you switch it off it goes from 30fps to 60fps which means the processor is still doing extra work!
The 5 hour estimate is with 3D on I think but I wonder if that includes StreetPass. |

Well I doubt you'll be playing in 3D for 5 hours straight anyway. Your eyes will literally melt due to the awesomeness.

QUOTE(toadhall @ Jan 14 2011, 06:26 PM) Well I doubt you'll be playing in 3D for 5 hours straight anyway. Your eyes will literally melt due to the awesomeness. Frankly, with the DS, unless you have a gath, you won't be playing it 5 hours straight. The problem is when you bukak tutup. That's a problem.Added on January 14, 2011, 6:26 pmPROTIP: Buy an extra charger besides, its a portable. |

3D does effect the battery life. Western media are reporting that the 3DS has a 3-5 hr battery life. Pity it can't be like the DS Lite (which had a uber long battery life)
Pre-orders have already started in the UK but I'm holding out til there are better pre-order goodies and til I know whether the unit is region locked (rumored to be). They're listing about £200 for the unit so far (though as everyone knows, prices are unconfirmed - we'll have to wait til Jan 19 for some sort of possible trickle of info from Nintendo) |
