Sifu, after much 'research', planning to get either 50u or 50v, depending on the price. I will use it mostly for PS3 gaming. I don't play long hours of games unless on weekends. Is it recommended to get plasma for gaming? Tq in advance.

Any news on 2011 plasma models, if any? Should i buy 50u or 50v now or should i wait for new models, if they are coming this year?

Precautions such as set the brightness to 50 and wash it for 30 minutes at least for the first 200 hours, is it? From what i have read so far.

I was foolish to think that if i buy bigger screen, i would only get bigger pictures. When i play my ps3 games, for the first few minutes, it was pretty much the same. when the action finally starts, i was wow! what a difference in picture quality, and motions! I was amazed really to think there would be such difference in quality. and yeah got my THP50U20K today. Can't help but play my games now with renewed vigor. To the gamers, i played Winning Eleven 2011. I used to have this Sony S series 32" LCD. The graphics was ok during gameplay. But when i played on Pana, it was just so nice to look at.

QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Feb 14 2011, 10:53 AM) Thank you very much for the super detail report. Unfortunately, most of it are Greek to me but I appreciate it nevertheless. So far, I am very happy with 50U except for the reflection issue. Dim the light, draw the curtain and the color naturalness is jaw dropping good. The human skin tone are to die for and I doubt Sammy/LG can match it for naturalness, even though I have never seen one in residential house. I have only seen them in showroom setting and those don't count. Anyway, I will go back and try out your setting of True Cinema/Brightness 0 or -1/Contrast +70. Thanks. Indeed, what I have in mind as well. But after I done all that, I think it is money well spent indeed. Still learning to appreciate all the Pana goodness (the Greek part) but so far, my eyes are appreciating them bit by bit. Playing videogames will never be the same again!

Personally, I own U20 and I think it looks simple enough for my taste and matches my 'all-black/dark colour' theme. Prefer something 'low profile' but powderful enough.
