I think the price difference bewteen U50 and V50 will be around RM1500.
The plasma in Malaysia are cheaper than earlier because they are now assembled in Singapore and not Japan
U50 in Malaysia is cheaper compared to in Singapore (RM5299 vs S2699 - RM6260)

QUOTE(idoblu @ Jun 6 2010, 08:07 AM) From reading all these I just realized that now is probably the worst time to get a big screen tv due to the football season. No wonder some dealers hang high to sell. If looking for a better deal I guess it's best to wait for it to be over. You will get very good cheap price as they have to sell their unsold stock for world cup

QUOTE(cucubud @ Jun 15 2010, 11:34 AM) Thank you rublik. When register online, do we get extended warranty from Panasonic? How long more? U need to pay extra depending on ur model (P50U20K is RM330 for additional 3 year) if ur warranty is 2 years. U need to register online to get this extended warranty. Some shops would get u the warranty when u purchase and pay the extra amount There are 2 types of extended warranty when u buy from shop: 1. Warranty directly from Panasonic 2. Warranty from insurance company

QUOTE(plumberly @ Jul 19 2010, 09:48 PM) Am close to place my order soon. Just one clarification to go. Dealer offers RM 400 for the additional 3 years warranty on top of the 2 years warranty. Total price is RM 6200 + 400 for 50" V20K. Like to know whether one can get a cheaper 3 years additional warranty directly from Pana web. Can't find out there as I need to have the serial number. Thanks. Just call Pana Customer Service at +603-5543 7600 (Mon - Fri: 9.00am - 5.00pm) They will let you know the price of the extended warranty

QUOTE(anfieldude @ Jul 20 2010, 01:49 PM) PoorMan and all out there, I just figured out that the U20 actually has another mode called TrueCinema that improves the gamma response of the U20 and could also have better blacks by a hair. I will remeasure and post my observations once I can get the chance to check. If it is indeed true, then it's really great. Happy to hear. Do post as soon as possible Thanks

QUOTE(97th Mobile @ Aug 17 2010, 01:39 AM) Hi all, I've just ordered P50v20k. Would like to ask all your opinions on what is the best 2.0/2.1 speaker i should get to connect to the tv optical output? another question is, could i control the speaker from the tv volume control? i prefer a simple setup so hopefully no need to but any amp or receiver. Thanks newbie You could get a panasonic home theater set with arc (audio return channel). By using the same brand (with HDMI connection), u will be able to use either remote of tv or home theater to control volume or change channel (viera link). Also ur tv supports ARC so when u connect with a home theater with ARC, there will less cable at the back as the audio is sent through hdmi to the home theater from the tv when watching astro or tv channels (no audio cable required) It will good to get a blu-ray home theater as u can enjoy more ur full HD plasma. As for me, i am using Panasonic P50U20K plasma with SC-BT735 (Panasonic blu-ray home theater) and astro beyond. Connection via HDMI (2 cables only at the back)

QUOTE(97th Mobile @ Aug 17 2010, 05:01 PM) How much is the SC-BT735? Actually i am using my ps3 for gaming cum bluray player and also got to connect my Media Player (for MKV files), Astro and DVD Player all to the TV, that is why how to connect to external audio? left out my dvd recorder which i am not considering to connect to the Astro decoder any panasonic home theater that comes with speakers or soundbars only? also thinking of the edifier S730D (got optical input), but dunno whether can use or not or the sound good enough or not? Thanks I paid 2550 for sc-bt735 (got it from forumer iamsobloodysick) Maybe u need to get a receiver plus speakers to connect all of them - onkyo, yamaha, pioneer, sony ....
