QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Nov 14 2010, 03:32 PM) How would u compare this U with the 50X? Both are as reflective. You will not notice 42in reflectiveness that much as coverage is is much smaller. 50in X Model is value for money if you are on Astro (incl. Beyond) and DVDs; someone mentioned 1 V Model = 2 X Models. 50in U Model is a FHD model (X is a HD Model) and you will notice vast detail differences on Bluray & FHD movies via PMP eg. Avatar / GI Joe. If you are on 42in Models, your eyes can't really tell the difference. Go to best denki Mid Valley to see for yourself, whether you can notice the difference. There is a V Model there.

[quote=Optiplex330,Dec 31 2010, 07:16 AM] IMO, Samsung has many things going for them, chief amongst them are cheaper price and more feature and sharper image on normal Standard Definition.
Not true. In fact Panny of the same range is cheaper than Sammy.

QUOTE(YannYann @ Jan 24 2011, 10:08 AM) is U series already phased out ? I went to SenHeng and wanted to get 50" U series but was told its discontinue ? Anyone know what is the best price can get for U seriesĀ ? Should i get the V series 50", out of budget lahh Jusco 1U was selling ~RM3899 (after rebate) in the weekend (probably 1 year warranty). I have been watching 50U for ~9months with default setting and so far no Picture/Quality/Black level issues. I paid RM5499 when it was first launched (free BD45/HDMI Cable and 5 years extended warranty) I bought another BD45 Bluray Player for a friend at RM459 (Jusco); basic unit but fast loading and proven to play all Uncle Ho's BD. Hi Anfieldude,
I have been using my 50U for >8 months now. As advised, I select the TrueCinema Mode for the desired black leve ie. 70 Contract / +-1 Brightness / 0 Sharpness and the expectation turned out good. Since there is no option to to select Cool Color Mode, the color seems quite tinted / warm.
I suggested those who do not like warm color to switch to GAME Mode as the Cool Color / Blue Background / Black level are more pronounced. After reading your post and tested the TrueCinema mode, I now prefer to stay at the GAME mode as this provide the best Piq for my eyes i.e. 55 Contrast / 3 Brightness / 0 Sharpness / Cool Color Mode. I am using default setting only.
The Normal / Cinema mode are too dull and the Dynamic is too bright / over contrast.
