BTW. u guys watching ur blurays on PS3?? or bluray player???

didnt really survey the market now for the bluray player cos i have a ps3, BUT i do notice when i watch bluray. the exos side of the ps3 have tremendous heat sweat.gif

wondering will it be better to watch bluray on the bluray player den gaming on the ps3 only.
*

I use a PS3 to watch all blu-ray. The rationale is 2 in 1 (blu-ray movies & gaming). Then again, some may differ and prefer a standalone blu-ray player who doesn't do gaming.

Try asking a forumer iamsobloodysick if he can quote you the unit minus all the freebies.

I notice some juddering in the V20 when watching the Byond HD channels. Is this normal?
*
It's the transmission probably not your TV. I do sometimes get these on my 42" Panny. I would think its the
transmission signal. wink.gif

Tks, that's a relief. But then i did not notice on my old LG 42-inch HD-ready screen. Maybe it's more noticeable on the 50-inch ful HD screen.
*
Were you on B-yond when you had your LG? This only happened lately and I would conclude after B.yond's version upgrade. Before it was not there.
So, I still think it is the transmission not related to TV. May I suggest try playing Blu-Ray or DVD and see if it is there.

Yes, I was watching Byond on the LG. I tested with BD and the palyback was smooth. So most probably it was Byond. I also notice if i disable the Intelleigent Frame feature on the V20, I notice the images becomes bluring, and nearly make me nauseous. rclxub.gif
*
Can't help you here bro, mine's a X series. smile.gif so, dunno if the Intelligent Frame cause image blurring as my model do not have this feature. smile.gif
Well, I guess at the end of the day, the current settings gives good picture with clarity and you are happy with your choice, then just enjoy. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Should be the button to the right of button "0". Sorry I can't be sure as I have not seen an X28 remote control but should be the same.
*
Yup, confirm, its the right button to "0". one that has a square symbol with a small "+" in it. smile.gif

Hey Anfieldude,

Greetings bro, (gotta say hello, no rivalry here smile.gif )

I've been following the discussion on the motion blur, judder and artefact encounter by allycat's V series. I own a X28 series and I've got B.yond, PS3
and DVD (normal type not upscale 1080 player) and I don't seem to notice such issues like motion blur. During the recent World Cup, everythings was detail
and there were no trails or blurness caused by movement. Even when I play PS3, racing games, they look pretty good and decent.

Anyway, my Panny has broken the 200hours. My current setting is Cinema mode with Eco at off position. When its new, I did a google on calibration and
came back with this: http://ezinearticles.com/?Plasma-Calibrati...-Dime&id=493213 I followed. smile.gif

In your opinion, such calibration work? or you need proper tools to do that?

What about these disc to perform calibration available in Amazon.com? http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_1...sc=11&x=14&y=20

Appreciate your thoughts.

Cheers

Guys, what different between this 2 model?

VIERA TH-P42X28K vs VIERA TH-P42A28K

X28K slightly cheaper than A28K.....but spec is same...

This was explained on previous page by lang7773

QUOTE(lang7773 @ Aug 11 2010, 11:42 AM)
there only have 2diffrence

-A only have 42"
-better sound quality

Clear, easy-to-hear sounds are achieved by facing the built-in speakers toward the area in front of the display. Sounds can be easily heard in front of the display, for clear, comfortable audio

-X have 42, 46, 50"

I will agree with anfieldude for his explanation on IR and the recommendation of "Cinema" setting. I own a X28 series and it's now over 3months. So far, did not notice any IR on my unit as I have set the viewing mode to Cinema since the day I got it and I share my settings with you.

Viewing mode: Cinema
Contrast : 1 click to the left
Brightness : default
Color : default
Colour Balance: Warm for the first 2 weeks then back to normal.

I tested it on the u series and its not there. The u and x panels are totally different . Also its more apparent on larger displays.

I own a X series and to date, I haven't really noticed it. How about other X-Series owners? Care to share?

Hey Rook,

It's an internal circuit that connect the panel. I had this when I first bought the X series. Had the same lines on to of the panel when first turned on.

Called Panasonic, they came looked at it and replaced it with a new unit after two days.

Suggest you get them over to take a look.

It got nothing to do with HDMI cable or even speakers beside the TV but the A board kong already.

The Pana guys came and changed the board.
Noticed that the screen was manufactured in Japan, the unit was assembled in Singapore and the A board came from Vietnam.
Probably I could be the unlucky one to get the defect batch of A board.
Hey Rook...

Glad you have your unit sorted out. These electrical circuitry these days are very delicate and sometimes just "kaput"
with no reason.

I've had such experience right from the box and kills all the excitement.

At least, Panasonic kept their side of the bargain in warranty claim.

So far, it has served me well for Astro B.yond, PS3 games & Blu-ray and media player.

Hey, just a tip, set your picture to Cinema.
