VT50 reviewed here is a summary - Pros Best black levels of any new TV on the market Good out of the box performance Reference greyscale and colour reproduction when calibrated Lack of PWM noise and clean looking images Freeview HD and Freesat HD built-in Reference level 3D performance No nonsense design and excellent build quality Excellent lag times for gamers Full ISFccc Calibration controls THX Certified Two Pairs of 3D Glasses in the box Excellent performance with Sky 3D Excellent scaling Good quality Remote control Cons Uncertainty over long term black level performance Some visible banding with certain material Calibration menu design gets in the way Some light image retention visible Some users may see flicker from the image 3D glasses not that comfortable Still lacks film cadence detection Lack of content on Viera Cast Even for an Eco TV it still uses quite a bit more power than LCD rivals Extra 3D glasses are expensive This post has been edited by idoblu: May 18 2010, 10:34 PM |

QUOTE(michaeltan1943 @ May 22 2010, 06:50 PM) Where you saw? it won't be as good as krp-500 but i'm sure it's not twice as good than v50 either. Taking into account that krp500 cost twice as much This post has been edited by idoblu: May 22 2010, 08:28 PM |

is it because VT is THX certified hence better?
I was thinking V and VT would be close |

QUOTE(anfieldude @ May 22 2010, 10:23 PM) I doubt its anything to do with THX. Let's wait for the professional reviews and see. The 50V20 is supposedly priced at ~6K and the VT is priced ~ 13k. While some of it is due to the 3D, the others are probably due to panel improvements. Then again, I could be wrong. Let's wait and see. Thanks anfield!Just that both specs seems the same except for the 3D and THX |

QUOTE(anfieldude @ May 29 2010, 11:35 PM) good price really? i was hoping for like under 6k its a 2k jump from the U50 now i wonder how much is the Z1. I remember seeing some crazy price like 20k above but wonder what is it now. if drop to 6k i might consider that instead just for the bigger size |

Anfield,
ok I'm sold! I want to buy one from you! seriously if only those salesmen is half as good as you, I would be in trouble (in a good way) I can fully understand what you are saying. You know us consumers we always want good and cheap haha...but you are right, in the end, quality will go down. In this case I'm merely looking for the best deal. If I know that this is a reasonable price to pay, I will. I don't want to find out later that everyone else bought theirs for 1k less and with gifts thrown in that's all. I'm also wondering if this is the "intro price" or can I get this or cheaper down the road. I'm not in a hurry but if the price is good I will buy This post has been edited by idoblu: May 30 2010, 09:10 AM |

LED backlit LCD is very nice if you play HD source
if SD, the picture still cant beat Plasma...imho later end of the year, i think you will see more flouro backlit LCD phasing out to be replaced by LED backlit. |
