its also design preference, some people might like the toshiba better then the acer. So at least they have a choice

hp envy series is supposed to be like the macbook pro. You're paying for the design, the built quality and the brand. (especially dr dre's one, but those don't come with the dr dre headphones anymore... so...)

if you're looking for the best performance for money then its way overpriced... but if you want it for the design, looks, then its worth it... (in a way)

yea you can connect to external monitor, whether it will affect battery life... i don't think so. when you connect you can either choose to duplicate, or extent the display, and also can choose to turn off one display.

yea my G53Jw's atheros wifi card stopped working a few days after i received my laptop... not anybody's fault, just unlucky to received a faulty wifi card...
