erm, 4820TG with 5650? most likely not coming. Cause ours is the 5470. If you want you might have to go over to singapore to get it.

depends, there are normal 13" which are around 1.9kg, while normal 14" is around 2.2 kg (both with battery)

those very thin laptops can go down to 1.4kg. Bottomline, less than half a kg difference.

QUOTE(Iphone4Lover @ Sep 14 2010, 05:23 PM)
I think it is time to update ur front page already as Dell Inspiron and Studio are now come wih i5 460m with no change in price for the upgrade from i5 450m!!! shocking.gif

i5 460m is better than even i5 520m and just slightly weaker than i5 540m when Turbo boost.

And Inspiron 14r and 15r now come with ATI HD 550v instead of old and weak 5470.

Overall, i feel like the value of Dell nootebook increased. thumbup.gif

Hm, but laptop prices are dropping no? So instead of dropping the price, they increase the specs lur.

QUOTE(AlexLai @ Sep 15 2010, 09:56 PM)
Iinm GTS360M only has a 128-bit bus.

GDDR5 is the GTS360M's only advantage.
*
yea GTS360m is 128bit (source: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForc...0M.24058.0.html )

but that is if the GTS360m comes with GDDR3 ram, the GDDR5 still gives a substantial performance boost.

QUOTE(Lumiere69 @ Sep 22 2010, 10:37 PM)
Well I am in Indonesia right now so my options are.

1) Get what is available here (there are a lot of asus, acer and toshiba dealers here)
2) Get something shipped to a friend in MY and take the short trip over the KL to pick it up but flights are damn cheap

Obviously option 2's cost would need to be factored into any decision.
*
option 3, go to singapore to get it? The Acer 3820TG there has a 5650 card + intel GMA. So

Hm... well you might have to take a look at your demands again and readjust. Because if you really want to game on fullHD, need to break the 1k budget. (dell SXPS)

it doesn't confirm pwn with future driver update. Its a most likely case only. So still need to think of what happens if that driver update doesn't come.

If you not willing to take risk, i suggest you wait till be becomes better first.

hmm i have an idea. can we have a list of 'who owns which model' at the main post ?

perhaps it will list which is the more common model being used. =P
*
this tread main purpose to provide a price list for 14" laptops, and some quick specs. Like this easier to see which models to look for. The notebook specific discussion for you to go ask detailed questions about the laptop ur interested in... since the owners will be there.... (not exactly true for benq tho >___>)

@syc3
1)this tread doesn't recommend any particular shops. Just stop by a local shop and ask them if they have the model. Unless ur in KL and want to go to low yat, most local shops sell around the listed price. The price might be higher because some shops automatically top up the ram to 4GB etc...

2)freedos = no OS, or some put linux inside. So yes you have to buy windows and install it yourself (or the shop can install it for you if you ask them)

3)Compaq software if you mean like the drivers they provide, you can get it from their websites.

4)Warranty covers the hardware part... so using jack sparrow copies won't void the warranty...

and use a spoiler to hide ur long quote....

[spoiler*] followed by [/spoiler*]
(without the *)

@lkliang89 Here >>> http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Sony-V...ok.40121.0.html

this is the EB(15" version) same specs,
"According to GPU-Z, the chip clocks with 450 and the DDR3 with 790 MHz. Sony has also opted for downclocking the core, also as in the first EB1S1E/BJ."
