Hi there i don't know is it right post here

I did have problem with my ASTRO cause some of the channel I subscribe unable to watch is like when heavy rain weather while other channel is fine.

For example i cannot watch channel 313 at all even sunny day when other channel seem fine

TQ

You didn't tell us what was displayed on your screen. But I can be 90% sure it was due to Astro is currently updating decoders. 313 will not be able to watch if your don't put the decoder on standby mode over night.

yesterday my house got strike by lightning
blackout for a while
thought only thats d issue
until later realize astro got no signal
services currently unavailable
perhaps due to heavy rain outside
wait till this morning
test again
still the same
called Astro CS
they guided with some tips
still no luck

they said will send technician
but surely will charge RM50 for the service
i've mentioned to them....
i'm still new in this Astro
just subscribe in last few months
at least give some warranty as i'm still within the contract period

they said NO such thing
the technician need to be paid....

damn....making money wherever possible....

This is why I take preventive maintenance and disconnect my decoder completely when not using.

In my case, yes

1. Dish Cable - No need to screw thoroughly (As long as the inner core and outer shield of the cable are contacted to the terminal will do)
2. Unplug the power source.

Nowdays decoder are refurbish/Recondition decoder set.So when u subscribe to Astro if u want NEW and not Refurbish please ask for it.They no longer manufacture new dmt sets.Only standard installation of rm199 will get those for now.

Natural Disasters are not under warranty. This applies to all electrical or electronic devices. But the next time i advice u to call and check with your installers 1st before calling astro customer service.Since its under warranty we wont charge u a single cent.

As for the rm50 its for the Installer/Service partners service fees...Astro dont give us montly salary...Or Yearly Bonus..
Or Free monthly astro fees...

How about Byond sets? Byond sets belongs to Astro, and all maintenance will be handled by them, according to the T&C. So that means whatever happens, we won't have to pay anything?

And about the refurbished decoder, how about the newer Thompson with composite out decoder? That should be new right?

The natural disaster rules still applies. But u must know is when u terminate your account after your contract period ends they will take back the whole set. That means U DONT OWN THE DECODER.But of course if they go private..then MAYBE its a different stories..

Ya those are new,But there are 2 types of these decoders,1 is with only composite and component.Means this type does not have RF output via coaxial cable to 2nd tv.This should come in yellow colour boxes. The other is with all which comes in dark blue colour boxes.
