QUOTE We wish to bring to your attention our traffic prioritization policy with regards to P2P and Fair Usage Policy. We would like to reiterate that the P2P throughput is subject to peers (seed) availability and their throughput as well. Kindly note that TM does not have any control over peers’ availability or throughput. The Fair Usage Policy automatically identifies the extremely heavy users and manages their bandwidth in order to protect the service of all our other customers. This traffic prioritization policy will protect the quality of service for the majority of our customers when they use the service, while at the same time, still allowing the extremely heavy users to continue to send and receive files with certain restrictions. With this policy in place, we will prioritize Internet activities like web browsing, live streaming, messaging applications and VOIP access while traffic to P2P sites will be given lower priority, due to the high bandwidth consumption of such services. We wish to also highlight that as an Internet Service Provider (ISP), TM only provides access to the Internet and does not guarantee content delivery and performance where it is not within the domain of TM as an ISP. In fact, our international traffic management policy is designed to cater for all our customers so they have an optimal surfing experience within the normal limits of Internet usage. As our priority is for all our customers to have a positive Internet experience, we wish to emphasize that it is important for all our customers to practice responsible usage of the allocated bandwidth based on normal usage. We would like to reiterate that we are not against the use of P2P but we would like to educate our customers that the usage of excessive P2P does impact the overall service availability to our other customers. TM does provide every customer with an allocated bandwidth, where other customers may use when not used by the others. Unfortunately, the nature of P2P more often than not, takes more than their allocated bandwidth, thus causing undue setbacks for other users when they want to use the service. From: http://www.streamyx.com/customer_care/cust...ir_usage_policy I baca pun sakit hati.... |

tbh joshting i dont see it happening at all. bcos everything is being suppressed by force or legal maneuvers. everyones kept in the dark. just like what is tm is doing to us. yeah nationwide problem on internet line. my foot, enough with their excuse. they blame all but themselves. just a little something for u guys. ever wonder or notice when its school hols ur line gets slower or u end up with more prob. ever think why when it comes to mid november or december there is sure some interruption say e.g underwater "cable putus" at specific area so line is effected. or why when u have prob with ur line they will say its maintenance or best reason currently changing the copper wire or moving a whole bunch of line to a new Dslam. think about it
Added on April 16, 2010, 12:02 pmdont blame us users for not believing when the excuse are real coz they cried wolf too many times and worse still they got caught with their pants down while doing that .. if u catch my drift ... rofl This post has been edited by vlwl17: Apr 16 2010, 12:02 PM |

Well, actually on the whole, internet in Malaysia sucks. Since TM owns and manages the backbone ... all ISPs are affected. I don't use screamyx at home but that ISP (the "potong" one) also sucks.

Why am I stuck with 175.144.19x.xxx IP address since this morning.
The line is damn slow, time out on many international website Anyone knows if 175.144 is a crappy IP, or its just because of the service problem? This is first time I get this IP, all my 124 and 60. IP gone. Was using 60.53 all the while until yesterday |

well tm is the only one with the license to provide broadband land line which is the best we can get. we dont have the tech nor money yet for stable wireless broadband. hence we are stuck with tm... coming back to monopoly of biz again. so how are things going to get better here with these kind of attitudes

I think some places are still down / problematic but my area service seems to be restored and much, much faster than it has been for the past 1 or 2 months..
Maybe because other users are down = less overuse of screamyx's oversold bandwidth = faster line for those who can get connected? I know we've been discussing, complaining, ranting & cursing on this matter for so long now.. but is there any way we can PROVE that TMnut is overselling their bandwidth exceedingly / beyond normal fair practice causing ALL users to notice very slow speed when everybody is connected (during no outage period) and bring it to MCMC or some other authorities? Anybody in the know-how or has access to these information and would like to share / help? Or are we doomed to repeat our complains & rantings etc here forever.. while nothing productive happens |
