QUOTE(edwardgsk @ Apr 11 2010, 06:58 PM) he don't even use 100mm above telephoto, and he definitely doesn't need the master function, therefor buy SB900 buat apa. Get SB600 enough la. SB900 can still use ceiling to bounce even in some big halls due to the power and recharge rate, worth the upgrade over the SB600.

QUOTE(min_yp @ Apr 12 2010, 11:28 PM) Hi all the pros, I want to go into photography and starting with a dilemma of choosing nikon d90 / canon eos 550d after much research / holding the camera, i prefer nikon d90. But now the 2nd dilemma: should i buy d90 with\ 1. Kit lens 18-105 or 2. Tamron 17-50 F/2.8 VR Also prime len: 50mm f/1.8 vs f/1.4 : is there a LOT of difference? Any suggestion will be good. Thanks in advance. 17-50 f/2.8 VC! Low light capability is good, but you much check for front focus / back focus issue on the lens on the spot. Seems that many of them got hit by this issue.

QUOTE(maxh3h3 @ Apr 14 2010, 09:04 AM) B+W filter are very good filters, UV filter were create to block flares from going in directly. plus it is good to equip it with your lens as a protection just incase u crack your lens to something worse still will break your filter without breaking the glass of your lens. UV filters are not designed to reduce flares AFAIK. They are built to filter UV light which causes haze effect on the film cameras, but does not affect modern DSLRs now. Anything you add to your lens would introduce flare, just the better multicoated ones reduces flare to minimum instead.

QUOTE(Oxburg @ Apr 14 2010, 01:53 PM) Next generation of D90 coming out soon. I also know it is coming soon. But when it first come out, price would be high. People might just wait until price drop, then when price drop, D90 replacement replacement coming soon...

QUOTE(maxh3h3 @ Apr 14 2010, 03:43 PM) can someone explain more about 3d focus of the d90 i havent go thru the manuals yet Hmm, easier for you to discover it yourself. Set focus to center, half press shutter, then you recompose to another AF point, the AF will follow.

Yes, I think that is Meike's battery grip. Better go with the original.

What I heard was Meike is like the best among the third party though. I've held Phottix and another brand, can't recall which. Doesn't feel too nice which why I stick to the MB-D80 instead.

QUOTE(budaq_ekz @ Apr 15 2010, 09:35 AM) i turn off my auto focus light.. takpe ke? Much slower or most probably no unable lock at the worst case. QUOTE(metalfreak @ Apr 15 2010, 09:46 AM) Hi guys, I did the test as recommended by SHadow1111 http://focustestchart.com/chart.html <== It seems okay wor. No back focus and etc. Serial on the box ah? I think i saw 024**** not sure if its that one...the sticker. Anyway, What UV lens filter would you guys recommend? Hoya? Anything which will do the job but won't cost a bomb? Also, place to buy? I heard J-One gives good price Yes, was referring to that one. My friend's unit had severe front focus. shoot at 50mm f/2.8 and pretty obvious one. Had to adjust with the D300s' AF calibration +20 only fixed it aish.

2 factor, one is the lens another is the camera's AF.
His D300s was working ok with other lens without requiring calibration, so the lens is the culprit.
