Maybe his skinny look make him looks shorter.Anyway, cant wait for the summer. Left side of the team need complete overhaul.

Riera is heading the exit, Aurelio's contract is expiring....Babel and Insua are both too inexperience to hold the position as their own... sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

at the beginning few weeks of the season, i wouldnt have thought that we might lose more than our neighbours, this season has been poor due to numerous season, yet i wouldnt want to complain more as we did way btr against sunderland.. i am still hoping for that 4th spot..as spurs yet to play the top3..i blv we can !

on another note, alonso and arbeloa did well in their derby match in madrid !  biggrin.gif and i blv rafa is the one they should thank for raising their game to another level !

Everything is building up nicely for El Classico. biggrin.gif Messi's definitely one to watch for, those who have follow Barca's recent matches would agree, he just went one level above God-like.

Back to Liverpool, great game last night. Finally Liverpool's a joy to watch and how we really miss it so badly. Once again, Gerrard show in games like this, he is a good option to use in midfield. With Kuyt in the hole, Gerrard's able to burst into the box unmarked. And Maxi Rodriguez, a bit surprised that people are starting to write him off a little as he did well last night. Not much contribution in terms of direct assists and goals but he brings players around him into play. Great link-up. And Johnson's regaining his confidence bit by bit. There was this point in a match where he rushed and got to the ball before the defender despite being 1 or 2 yards behind. His pace was frightening. Babel did very well too so perhaps Duke Red's right about giving him a run of games.

And the Fernando Torres goals... absolutely sublime.

Lucas is way better than anderson for me, beside i think hes rarely been out for injuries (if im not mistaken).. the way rafa plays him, i personally think he is just a backup for macherano, if he decided to move out from LFC..
about Reina, hes great! second to none!

lucas may be that good in certain people's eyes but i think people are annoyed about rafa playing 2 DM

From my pov, it is the play system make Lucas looks bad which can affect the player confidence.

If play 2 DM, then you hardly can spark some creativity in the midfield area, which eventually could lead to inability to score goal, and somemore with 1 lone striker upfront, make life even tougher for the striker department due to lack of support from 2DM or thru passes to create goal opportunity.
You don't expect to win many matches if play with negative mindset or ultra-defensive line-up.

Macherano + Lucas in CM is not a good combination.
Play Gerrard in the middle and partner either one of them, and with current situation for defensive cover and defensively excel one, Mascherano is preferred.

For PL, want to succeed in league or having good position in league, then one must ruthless in attack, just like what happened on last night match against Sunderland, score 2-0 early then shut the game up.
Playing ultra-defensive and hope for counter attack to nick a goal to win 1-0, won't carry team very far. Occassionally against strong team may be ok, but not week in week out.

Actually, you win the league title by beating the lower team consistently and ruthless, you don't win the league by beating top teams only.

What similarity for the top 3 team on the league table?
They are ruthless in attack and able to score a lot goals.
And having little problem to beat the team below especially at bottom half table teams in general.

Errr... it has nothing to do with the formation. It has nothing to Rafa too.
With the same fat Rafa and the same cursed formation, we were the top scoring team last season.

4-4-1-1 worked last season because alonso and gerrard is on fire.. including every other players..

this season we have off form gerrard and... lucas

sunderland game was a joy to watch.. but stronger team will murder that left/right defense
