yup.. rafa got fool bt his old valencia tactic which use 2DM..
=====Albelda===Baraja======

Baraja and Alonso both actually are the same type of player where they have creativity, vision and passing skills which can locate player accordingly.

While for Lucas to step in their position is wrong as he does not have the creativity, vision and passing skills that both of them have. That why if we against team with defensive minded it will be very hard for us the break down using Lucas.

Errr... it has nothing to do with the formation. It has nothing to Rafa too.
With the same fat Rafa and the same cursed formation, we were the top scoring team last season.

It is about the personnel fit into the formation. You play on form players, hungry players, those keep on off-form should be bench and give others a try if thing doesn't workout.

If there is no suitable condidate for the particular formation, then it is hard for the team to spark. So either change the formation, or change the personnel, keep on using the same system which cannot deliver result won't deliver good result either. This issue is particular happening on away match.

Home match still ok in general, as Liv play more offensively in home match, but it is away match particular against lower table team which is very poor.

As said before, Lucas + Mascherano are not known for their creativity, vision, thru pass/diagonal pass that can split opponent defence, with this combination basically there is no central penetration offensive threat from that area, while Gerrard form is not good this season who play central role behind striker, then there is no one to breakdown the opponent defence, except through some magical moment from striker (Torres), or Reina as assist through long ball kicking.
This combination might be good to stop opponent playing like against MU or top team time, but not against lower league table team.

Anyway, just my view though.

Yup, you have Lucas + Mascherano at CM, Kyut + may be Babel or Reira then basicaly the whole midfielder are not known for creativity and defence splitting passer. So it relied too heavily on Gerrard and Torres to carry the team. If both of them are not fully fit or on form, basically no one to score already. You need midfielders to score a couple of 10+ goals as well, which we don't see many goals from Lucas + Mascherano (almost virtually none from them/combination, Mascherano's previous goal was a deflected one, so I don't know it is credit as his goal or not)

Liv needs some midfielder can score as well, cannot always rely on Torres alone or Gerrard.

Don't get me wrong, I don't say Kyut or others are not good, just formation + personnel combination is not right.

Liverpool FC starlet ruled out for rest of the season

QUOTE

Martin Kelly has been left devastated by a fresh injury setback that will rule him out for the rest of the season.

The promising right-back was omitted from Liverpool's squad for the visit of Sunderland at the weekend after tearing knee ligaments in training on the eve of the game.

Kelly has endured an injury-plagued term at Anfield this season and spent four months on the sidelines after picking up an ankle problem in the 2-1 defeat to Lyon in the Champions League.

Cameo appearances in the Europa League against Unirea Urziceni and the 4-1 hammering of Portsmouth in the Premier League were expected ease the 19-year-old back to regular first-team action but this latest setback will require corrective surgery and six weeks rehabilitation.

It means that Kelly will miss Liverpool's remaining six league games and the Europa League quarter final showdown with Benfica.

Anyway, this Lucas debate will never end. From my pov, he still has his parts to play.Maybe not 1st team player but he certainly got a role to play. What kind of player you can get with the 5m you got off from Lucas?Adaptability is an issue. For now, as long as he is not starting every single match, I'm ok with him stayin in the team.

Put that aside, Agger could have score hat trick last night. He need to learn more from Hyypia...or maybe Krygiakos tongue.gif
*
Yup..agree! but if not mistaken, hyypia was like a mantor to agger..right..? sweat.gif
