Have a question for everyone here:

When you're pressing the menu key, call key and end call key on the phone, do you feel like the top part of the phone is tapping the lower half? By top part I mean the display/screen portion tapping against the keyboard portion. I don't know, at least I can't recall this happening when I first bought the phone and for the first few months, but it is becoming irritating as I now subconsciously will look out for this occurrence and it pains me to know it happens.

Plus now there seems to be quite a gap between the top portion and lower portion of the phone that when you press the keys mentioned above, you can see the two portions touch.

Anyone else experience this? Plus the silver coating around the phone is wearing off, especially near the camera and volume keys (I suspect due to the in-box pouch). How much did it cost you guys to have this fixed for you?

i'm not sure mine have it or not never use...gotta check my Retail box again..

tested on my N97..dont have the "feel like the top part of the phone is tapping the lower half"..it feels solid...the top stays and not moving. Maybe u want to send to NCC to have it checked...

regarding the silver coating, i think someone already got new replacement for the silver ring at NCC...provided your warranty is still valid

Finally a feedback!

This is what worries me, that I'd have to visit a NCC..and having dealt with NCCs before (internally), I'm afraid to have to deal with them now as a customer. But since my phones' condition is not normal as you don't have the problem, guess I've no choice but to go. Warranty ends June so will have to do this soon.

haha..ya lor..better go before the warranty ends..i also wanna go to change my silver rim..heavily tear off on the camera shutter button and volume button..hope they have some stocks

new RIM after 2-3 months use no peef off at all...

I hope n97 cheers up its owners when symbian3 launched soon.

anyone using Microsoft Outlook Email? What application you use to push it to your N97?

went to NCC 1Utama last tuesday to upgrade firmware and to change the silver ring......only manage to upgrade firmware coz to change the ring the the staff said had to take long time.....more than 5 hours.......upgrade firmware took 2 hours.......

i rather wait for that 5 hours than coming back....lol
