QUOTE(K2002 @ Apr 18 2010, 06:31 PM) FRP brake is two pieces of FRP glued together. in the picture the screwhead is embedded in the frp (the one circled red), so it does not contact with the ground. to make this, one of the frp has to be modified by making the holes bigger so that the screw head can go through. u can do this with 4mm drill bit or tamiya round file. u can also make extra mounting points for screws like i made in the picture (circled in green) which can be used to mount dampers for instance. |

ada tamiya filing set jual kat TU. round file macam flat file tapi bulat macam pensel. anyway fun fact, the hanging dampers are called "cho-chin (lantern)" in Japan. |

i rather not touch the gears but instead finding an excellent set of 520s to be fitted in them instead. coupled with a flourine coated gear shaft. to those who havent tried the flourine coated shaft, it really works...i managed to shave almost 1 second with it.
ive cut to lighten gears before but ended with a set of wobbly gears. so its not something that is easy to be done without the right set of tools, and skill. |

QUOTE(nate12 @ Apr 24 2010, 12:36 PM) drill 1mm-1.5mm shouldnt be a problem. basically, drill the hole a bit smaller than the shaft. so when u push in the shaft itll be tightand oh, drill on the side that does not have the hole instead of drilling through the hole.
