amd tdp refer to max..
no wonder during idle it's lesser..

n it's by average.. so it's different among chips..
*
Yup it's true, AMD listed their cpu's TDP using Maximum while Intel listed their cpu's TDP using Average only hmm.gif

shows that the reading i gathered..
just ignore the core temp.. coz this is the earlier chip with defect dts..
but the cpu temp is ok..
*
Hehehe, now that said a lot, cpu nowadays doesn't eat too much watt compared to GPU..
It relatively sips watt when compared to GPU especially to the fermi GTX480 & GTX470 sweat.gif sweat.gif doh.gif

yalor... my bet is most will work well @ stock. oc mileage still depends on how good a board is. one thing for sure is d board must have pretty strong pwm in order to clock thuban. (*sarcasm mode on) those crappy boards owners like biopening  rolleyes.gif can totally forget bout oc a thuban on their el cheapo boards...  whistling.gif
*
LOL i don't think OC'ing can be put into equation when using thuban on my lil bro's mobo, its an old MSI K9A2-CF which has a very weak pwm's config..
It can only support up to 95W cpu's doh.gif doh.gif laugh.gif
