finally decided to make the leap from azuremod to cm6 nightlies. I'm too lazy to wipe, so im going ahead without wiping. I've seen pretty good feedback on r34, so i guess im gonna start with that

QUOTE(zc_squash @ Nov 2 2010, 02:02 PM) How's the battery life like? Sigh, really need to find time to learn how to root and flash. Havent had the chance to test for batt life yet, the whole day finish to troubleshoot, haha.On a separate matter, my phone keeps changing to a default ringtone by itself for some unknown reason. Any one faced the same problem? looks like the google apps i installed does not like the un-wiped installation, it got stuck at the intro screen, cant proceed. So had to restore from nandroid, my previous azuremod, do backup of all apps, then wipe-reinstall nightly cm6. All that while trying to accomplish some things at the bank, talk about multitasking. For legend, rooting and flashing not that hard, just sit down for 1 weekend and all done. It's defenitely worthed! Maybe your ringtone is mp3, and the file is moved or sdcard unmounted? |

QUOTE(d3m0n @ Nov 3 2010, 02:50 PM) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=746454 Thanks for the heads up, i got the right gapps. Fairly satisfied with cm6 nightly b34, can still get decent battery life using setcpu with good profile settings. Going to install latest build tonight, heheThat should get you going. Yup. Make sure you install the right version. CM6.0 Gapps won't work for CM Nightly because Nightly is based on CM 6.1. |

Ya, i can't stand it that all the newer phones are getting 2.2, and the things that you can do with a rooted phone. I just HAD to root =p. Never regretted it since, hehe.
Now on CM6 nightly r46 =). For those thinking to root soon, DO IT NOW! but be careful, ive bricked my wife's htc magic 3 months ago, haha |

QUOTE(Darren @ Nov 6 2010, 04:50 PM) Anything new on B46? Nothing new that's noticable though, i'm just keeping it updated every few days if im not too busy.Im pretty satisfied with B4x so far because the battery drain has improved quite a lot. Speaking of which, would you switch back to HTC NON'SENSE? Unless they happen to release something dramatic which possibly wont happen at all IMO, I will stick to B45 for the moment. I USED to miss the sense widgets, but since then i've found many other replacements. 1 thing i still cant replace is the contacts app. In senseui, the contacts can be linked to fb accounts rather seamlessly. Cant seem to do that in cm6/ cm6 nightly |

QUOTE(byfc2010 @ Nov 7 2010, 03:58 PM) yeah i missed the contacts app from Sense UI as well.. restoring contacts using gmail sync seems to be the best way, i've been doing that with no problems so far. If you try to restore contacts using mybackup or titanium, AND have gmail contacts sync, then you'll have tons of duplicates to deal with. So just dump all your contacts to gmail =) of course you can backup your contacts, but don't restore them on your new install unless you really have problem with gmail sync. After a fresh install, it takes a whilefor it to re-sync to your phone's empty address book, but you'll be up and running in no time.they can easily differentiate contacts from facebook... now after restoring contacts all contacts mixed up in CM6... or am I doing the wrong way? QUOTE(zc_squash @ Nov 7 2010, 04:35 PM) I'm finding the time to root and flash custom rom. But is there any guide available online for re-flashing back to stock ROM? And where to get the stock ROM? XDA forums has always been my best friend in android-related matters.Must read sticky - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747890 Unrooting your legend - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822726 Guide to unroot and reinstall stock rom - http://theunlockr.com/2010/06/07/how-to-un...the-htc-legend/ honestly i've never tried to unroot before, but from the guide in the 2nd link, ppl have done it succesfully |

QUOTE(SpIcYjOe @ Nov 8 2010, 12:36 AM) i have a question bro, how do you sync contacts with gmail? I just plain lost here... i don't know where to start... when i create a contact, it ask if i want it on google, sim or phone... i usually put it on phone, can that be sunc with gmail? It's in settings > accounts & syncsettings > google accountwhen you click on your google account, you should be able to select what you want it to sync with (contacts, gmail, calendar etc) If you had it turned on before, if you go to gmail using your pc, you should be able to see all your phone contacts there as well. Ahh, the beauty of google intergration |

QUOTE(SpIcYjOe @ Nov 8 2010, 01:25 AM) when you activate the sync account, you'll be able to select what data it syncs to/from the phone. If you dont want want your email to be synced into the phone, then just uncheck it. BTW, android gmail wont sync ALL your emails, just the latest 20 (or whatever the default is) from your inbox. |

QUOTE(-Franc- @ Sep 15 2010, 08:10 AM) Im using it now, black color. Its good, but adds sum bulk to legend, noticibly thicker with alumor. Dont get the white one cos only the rubber portion is white and aluminum part is silver. The rubber is a bit sticky, so collect sum dust. Overall still very nice, look super sexy from the back. Got mine for rm75 from lyn member. |

QUOTE(Warwick @ Nov 10 2010, 02:14 PM) super noob question.. i am trying to get a paid app which is a GPS tracker with data logging. Don't worry, it's not a supernoob question =PI still have not rooted the phone yet as I have no time to do it and it got lil confusing reading the tutorial. plus the hassle to do it for the time being. So back to the question, if I put install market enabler, (does it still work) without rooting, can I get access to the paid apps? Simple answer is, you can't use market enabler without root. If youre not planning to root, I'd suggest you contact the developer of the app and buy directly from them (as opposed through the paid market). Price should be the same. I think theyll just send you the "apk" file to install after youve paid. HTC Legend official thread V2 - opened! |
