Hey guys I'm gonna be a Legend owner myself biggrin.gif Just need to know something:
1) Rooting, is it necessary? And what is that? :@
2) Battery Lite, what else can I do to maximize my battery life?
3) What kind of protection should I go for? Matte and?
4) Updating, is it needed? Is there downside after updated?

Hey I got a question, when you answer a call and the screen is close to your ear, it'll automatically turn off the screen right? Just now I had like a 5 minute call with someone, and when I take my phone away from my ear, my screen doesn't come back, it kept being black no matter what I do, ended up pulling the bat out, any other useful suggestion if this happen next time? Or is there way to switch off this auto screen turn off thingy?

for those who have tried creating recurring events in the calendar, when you tried to delete one of the event in a set of recurring events, we cannot just delete that one particular event. The calendar give the option to delete "This and future events" and "all events". anyone know how to delete a particular event within a set of recurring events?
*
After clicking it, click delete all event, the this and future event just like deletes the event you are 'in' .

But the camera already has zoom functionality?

I can't remember if it's for this specific problem but try setting your Network Mode to WCDMA Only and see if it resolves this issue. IIANM, it will fix it but the downside is... you're on WCDMA only smile.gif

Lol now I only relized xD But still some of the camera apps have some cool effects biggrin.gif

Why? I use ATK when my app hangs, like when the game get stuck, or do you have any other way to close the app? And last time I tried deactivate juice defender for one day, and I feel that my bat get drained faster blink.gif

Here and here toounsure.gif
and so far, my apps or game never stuck

for juice defender...
hmm...i think i can save the battery life manually. its not that hard for me
and i think save little bit memory and battery too because this apps run in background 24/7
just my 2 cents  laugh.gif

Yea I saw that two link before already, sometime I install games that I got from the net, then when it starts to download the data required, sometime it hangs and I can't do anything about it, which is annoying.

Maybe it's my usage? lol

Im using, just edit the file on ur PC then put back into the phone, easy.

I'll ask again, anyone know if I can get JD Ultimate without rooting?
*
Try google for Ipmart, then look around for people cracking JD ultimate.

Anyone having laggy call pickups? Whenever a call comes in, I tap the Accept call button and it takes about 2secs before it gets picked up. Its the same when I try to make calls. Real slow resposne.
*

Use hardcent so avoided the sms problem, but for bat life I'm not sure if mine got better or worse, cause before update I was mad download all the time, and app play and all, so it goes up to around 18-24 hours. Nowadays I have let it idle for most of the days until at night I use it for some facebook or gaming and that's it, and my phone battery usage is currently like this:

Up time: 98:37:10

Awake Time: 24:15:37

1 day 13 hour 10 minute 29 sec since unplugged

how could it? Try disabling it? my works perfectly... increase my battery life a bit... ^^

I've decided to disable it.. forever haha rclxms.gif After I close JD I went to setting to open my mobile connection through there, and it worked biggrin.gif Gonna try live without JD for a while see how far it can go lol rolleyes.gif

I think my up time is so long is probably because I don't do quick reboot and shut down for quite some time now, I'm surprised when I see that it was so long LOL. Do you do heavy gaming or anything heavy on your Legend?

Has anybody successfully added more than one Gmail account to their Legend? I've been trying but it always says "Unable to connect with the servers".

IIANM, there's a bug that prevents the Legend from syncing more than one Gmail account, but I thought they might have fixed it with latest firmware.

I still can't. Anybody?
*
I have the same problem, decided not to bother with it and just add gmail's site on my bookmark, straight go to the site better, that's why I ditched the Mail app by the phone, it tends to lag my screen, eats space, and force close, A LOT. Now I have hotmail on my bookmark as well, one click solves the problem lol.

I'm only heavy on my mobile internet... its on 24 hours.... hahaha.... if i don't use my phone, i mean don't use the mobile internet, it can last for 12 hours... but if i do only 5 hours... i don't game... i dislike to play games on legend, i play em on ipod touch... smile.gif
*
Lol like you said, on 24 hours, you need power to maintain it on LOL. 5 hours seriously? What are you surfing for ? blink.gif I try surf for 1-2 hours I already bosan lol, I sometimes open my music when it's about to have no bat, make the battery drain faster so when your on low low low battery, you charge again, at least that's what I do lol.

I don't surf the net but more towards using social apps.... like tweetcaster, bloo, facestream and facebook.... also when i'm at class, i'll do some quick research on topics.... sad.gif Sad... i really need to hunt for a better battery for HTC Legend... Hope the Froyo doesn't drain that fast or even faster!
*
Try tone down the surfing? Might help from time to time. smile.gif

Turned off my JD for one whole day, it still lasts around 24 hours, makes me realized it's only useful if you think it is lol

I've decided to disable juicedefender today to just see the effects it had..
results...
well, according to juiceplotter graph (you dont need to enable JD to use this)

Unplug time: 5.15 a.m
plug back time (batt 10%): 7.00 pm

so this day i got 13 hours 45 minutes
steep drop on 53% at 3 pm, other than that time its pretty flat, i dont really recall doing anything on my phone at that time, but I know i was out and about at that time in a hot day
The most important sign is that during that time the graph line is in red, it means that my battery is >36 degrees celcius, and I check everywhere, steep drop in battery % happens when the battery is in the red zone... and the most flat ones always in green zones ( 28 degrees and lower)

the day before with JD on:

unplug time: 10.30 am
plug back time (batt 17%): 1.15 a.m)

so i got around 14 hours and 45 minutes with 7% more battery
BUT, This is a less productive day than the next day, i believe i went to sleep at 3 pm (im a student got no class so sleep la lol) ;right when the graph showing green lines and it went fairly flat up until the night..
but i guess JD still saves a fair amount maybe an hour or so.. tomorrow im going to disable syncing of facebook as I dont find it important (gmail and other things is still kept on so we'll see how it goes)

Why im disabling JD?
well, I put speed and beauty above everything else, with JD on, i notice a significant drop in performance, i really hate that
I know its just 2 days of data but i'll gather more as time comes, and my belief at this time is that I can do without it

I encourage people who post "OMG wtfff the firmware update has drain my bAtt!!!" to post hard data as well, assuming that you already had Juice plotter app before the update and after, so we can all see and make inference from the data and not from hearsay/ placebo...
*
Just a note, when you use JP, try and get 3D gallery and you'll notice an album call cache, you can't find it on Astro, and when you see where the file is from, it states unknown location, and my brother deleted it, somehow his phone storage got more space, so maybe it might eat up your space.

I've been off JD for 2-3 days now, and so far, it doesn't really change much. Last time when I get to the 35 hour marker I had JD on, yet my phone was like 80% idle for the whole time, and now that I have it off, the best it can hit is around 24, but this time I play games, surf net, etc etc. So can't really say it works for me.

And from my view, JD saves your battery by turning off your mobile connection and wifi right? So if you turn them off manually, what's the point of having it? blink.gif
